The program for the long-term development of the AvtoVAZ lineup has undergone significant changes after the management of the parent corporation Renault published the revised strategy “Renolution”.
The current version of the SUV
Among the main changes planned in Renault for the Russian company are the unification of the production platform and generational change for most models. In addition, AvtoVAZ is seriously counting on the export of new cars to the markets of Western countries. As you know, Lada models are not officially on sale in Europe at the moment. However, the planned change of generations and the release of new cars are intended to change the current situation.
Niva Vision concept
So, according to the head of AvtoVAZ, the new generation of the Lada Niva SUV, which should appear on the market in 2024, will be supplied to Europe. Moreover, the top manager of the company even named the approximate price of the car. It will be 12-16 thousand euros, which is equivalent to 1-1.4 million rubles.
Later, in 2025-2026, another SUV, the Lada Niva Grand, should go on sale outside of Russia. This car will receive an elongated platform, which will make it possible to install 7 seats in the cabin. The price of this version is expected at 20 thousand euros, which is comparable to 1.7 million rubles.
Such a decision, in the opinion of the company's management, is quite justified, since one of the points of the development strategy is the manufacturer's entry into a more expensive segment of the market. The emergence of a new SUV with an elongated body should ensure the implementation of the plans.
