Soon, an interesting mid-size crossover FAV Besturn T77 2022, which can currently be found on sale in China, should debut on the Russian automotive market. This model is considered a direct competitor for the Kia Sportage, as well as for Hyundai Tucson, Toyota RAV4 and Mazda CX-5 vehicles. As in China, on the Russian market the car will be presented in several trim levels. Now the prices for the model vary in the range of 1,017,000 - 1,539,000 rubles, although in Russia the prices are likely to be higher.

Specifications

This SUV can be found on the territory of China in several modifications, which accordingly affects the technical characteristics of the model. In fact, FAV Besturn T77 2022 is another urban SUV with rich trim levels and a low price by modern standards. Separately, it is worth mentioning the appearance of the car in the new body, which immediately catches the eye and distinguishes the "Chinese" against the background of many "classmates" (you can evaluate the design of the car from the photo in the article).

For the Chinese market, this car is equipped with a subcompact gasoline-type turbocharger engine. An installation for 1, 2 liters can generate up to 143 hp. and 204 N * m of torque. You can find the SUV on sale only in front-wheel drive versions. The SUV can be selected in more affordable trim levels with a 6-speed "mechanics", or in the most expensive variations with a 7-band robotic gearbox with two clutches. The crossover from the Middle Kingdom is economical, because on average, for every 100 km of run, it will spend 6, 3 liters of fuel (AI-95 gasoline) in the combined cycle. Oddly enough, the massive five-seater cross is notable for good dynamics, as well as a maximum speed of 181 km / h. In terms of the level of harmful emissions into the atmosphere, the SUV fully meets the requirements of the Euro-6 standard.

In comparison with its "classmates", this model has a smaller trunk and dimensions that are standard for its segment. In length, this SUV reaches 4,525 mm, in width 1,845 mm, in height 1,615 mm. The wheelbase of the Chinese car is 2,700 mm. The curb weight of a car is 1 485 - 1 505 kg, this indicator directly depends on the installed version of the transmission. The luggage compartment of this machine can accommodate up to 343 liters of cargo without any problems. If this volume is not enough, it can be increased almost fourfold by first folding the rear row of passenger seats. The "Chinese" tank is designed for 48 liters of fuel, which, given the low consumption, gives a good power reserve.

You can meet this SUV on sale in several trim levels, among which the basic version and the top-end modification deserve special attention, since the difference in equipment between neighboring trim levels is not so significant. Prices, as already mentioned, range from 1,017,000 to 1,539,000 rubles in local currency. For the Russian market, the configuration and prices may change slightly.

Base

The most affordable basic version with a 5-speed "mechanics" will cost customers 1,017,000 rubles. This configuration already provides for a fairly rich equipment, which includes such options as:

Safety

Initially, the FAW Besturn T77 2022 model, as soon as it entered the Chinese market, did not impress with its safety. As a result of crash tests on the C-NCAP system, the SUV simply failed, largely due to the lack of side airbags. Literally a year after the start of the implementation, the problem was eliminated. After that, the safety of the model was appreciated by experts with great enthusiasm. Traditionally, according to the results of crash tests, the model was evaluated in four directions. Frontal blow with one hundred percent overlap - 95%. Frontal impact with 40% overlap - 91%. Side impact - 87%. Blow to the stern - 100%. The overall rating of the SUV is five stars. For certification in Russia, the model was also tested according to the NAMI system, and here the cross again showed quite decent results.

Handling and off-road performance

The "Chinese" presented in the review is a completely urban model, focused on the track and operation on other paved roads. Here the SUV feels as confident as possible and demonstrates its best qualities, namely: it is perfectly controlled, reliably holds the road and maneuvers without unnecessary surprises, without swinging and rolling.

Off-road driving of this front-wheel drive model is not much to do, since it will not be possible to cope with any average obstacle on your own. Performance on dirt roads and when driving over rough terrain is better, but still inferior to most of the "classmates".

Advantages and disadvantages

Taking into account modern realities and the rapid rise in prices, both for new and used cars, the absolute advantage of this car is the cost. Finding a full-fledged mid-size cross-country for such money is quite difficult, if you take into account the rich equipment provided for the FAW Besturn T77 2022. Also, an indisputable advantage of the car is its economy. The average consumption of 6, 3 liters of fuel per 100 km of track can not afford all "classmates". More often this figure is 1, 5 - 2, 0 liters higher.

Not without its drawbacks in the case of this model. The downside is a small luggage compartment. When a car enthusiast takes on this kind of SUV, he expects from him versatility and willingness to transport a large number of things. In the case of the T77, this is only possible with the rear seats folded down.

Design

Most of all, the Chinese SUV attracts attention with its appearance. The exterior and interior of the model looks unique, and practically does not intertwine with other modern cars. Most of all, the cross stands out with its front part with its massive radiator grill and pointed optics. Similar solutions are actively used in the construction of Haval models, but in the case of the T77, this design solution is brought to the ideal. It is also worth highlighting the spectacular stern and brutal stamping along the perimeter of the body. The car looks as stylish and modern as possible and guarantees the owner close attention when driving on public roads.

The interior of the SUV does not shine with some kind of innovations in comparison with other "Chinese". Everything here is according to the standard with the maximum use of high-tech elements, decor components and competent layout. The salon can be called bold and practical in every sense. When getting into the car, there is no feeling that the model costs like any budget B-class sedan, although it costs exactly the same.

Sales start

This SUV has been presented on the home market since 2018. Here the model has proven itself well and fell in love with the public. The release of the car in Russia is being prepared soon. It was originally planned to launch sales in 2021, however, according to the latest data, this will only happen at the beginning of 2022.
