The need for spacious family cars has always been among motorists, which is why manufacturers have created an appropriate class - a minivan. In modern realities, many companies have succeeded in producing such models, but in particular, brands from Japan stand out, offering many interesting options for buying with an acceptable price and high-tech equipment. A prime example is the Mitsubishi Delica 2022, a minivan sold in the home market. The car can be called a rival for Toyota Alphard, Kia Carnival, Volkswagen Sharan, Opel Zafira Life. Delica is sold in several trim levels at a price of 2,628,000 rubles for the M.
Specifications
At home, in Japan, the Mitsubishi Delica 2022 minivan is sold in a new body. This is a completely different car, unlike the previous model. At least this is indicated by completely different technical characteristics, different equipment, as well as the increased price and richer configurations. It is also worth noting the ultra-modern appearance of the minivan, which immediately catches the eye and distinguishes the "Japanese" against the background of many "classmates" (you can evaluate it from the photo attached to the article).
In the current generation, a minivan can be bought in Japan with an uncontested turbodiesel unit with a volume of 2.3 liters. Such an engine generates 145 horsepower as well as 380 Nm of torque. The powertrain is coupled with an 8-speed automatic transmission. An economical turbodiesel allows maintaining the combined cycle consumption at the level of 7, 9 liters of fuel, which for a massive car can be called a worthy result by modern standards.
Delica is not impressive in its dimensions, since in this regard, an all-wheel drive 7 or 8-seater minivan fully corresponds to the performance of its "classmates". The car reaches 4.8 meters in length, 1.8 meters in width, and 1.875 meters in height. The wheelbase of the "Japanese" is 2.85 meters. Clearance - 185 mm. The curb weight of the model is 1 940 kg. The minivan has a spacious cabin for 7 or 8 seats, but at the same time, it does not lose in the capacity of the trunk, which can accommodate 690 liters of equipment. The fuel tank of the model is designed for 65 liters of fuel.
Options and prices
On sale in the home market, the Mitsubishi Delica 2022 minivan is presented in trim levels M, G, G-Power and P. Prices start at 2 628 000 rubles in terms of Russian currency. It is worth noting that the basic equipment of this model, provided in the mentioned modifications, can be significantly expanded due to the "special stages", which is why the upper price limit can vary significantly. Initially, the configurations do not differ so much in terms of equipment, and therefore, attention should be paid to the car in the "base" and in the maximum equipment.
M
The most affordable version of the car with a price tag of 2,628,000 rubles in Russian money. The car received standard equipment, as well as the following set of options:

P
In the basic version without special stages, this is the richest complete set of Mitsubishi Delica 2022, which is available on the home market. A minivan in this design will be more expensive than the initial modification by 400 thousand rubles. In addition to the equipment listed earlier, the manufacturer has included such options as: LED optics, factory tinting, 18-inch alloy wheels, OEM navigation, digital dashboard, front and rear parking radars, all-round cameras. And also many other options responsible for safety and comfort while driving.

Safety
This is a typical Japanese car that boasts a good level of security. The safety of the model was assessed according to the Asian C-NCAP system, and according to the standard, the car was tested for resistance to frontal, side and stern impacts. The minivan coped with all the tests with dignity, gaining a total score corresponding to the rating of "Five stars". A head-on collision took place with 40 and 100 percent overlap. The end result of driver and passenger protection is 97% and 96%. The side impact showed that in this regard, the model guarantees safety, even in the event of a serious accident. The protection of the driver and passengers in such a test is 100%. As for the rear impact, here the figures are slightly worse, namely 92%.
Handling and off-road performance
Mitsubishi Delica 2022 is a comfortable family car that is focused on urban use. The model feels optimally on paved roads, demonstrating good handling and high-quality lane keeping. At the same time, the car does not oblige the driver to be tied only to highways or other city highways.
The ground clearance of 185 mm, as well as the all-wheel drive system, guarantee confident behavior on dirt roads and rough terrain, regardless of weather conditions. Here the car will be able to prove itself, however, this is all limited, since there is nothing to do on the off-road of a two-ton car with a small clearance. In such conditions, the car will not be able to cope, even with a small obstacle in its path.
Advantages and disadvantages
At first glance, the Japanese car is good in everything and has no flaws, however, as practice shows, this is far from the case. The minivan's disadvantages include the presence of an uncontested 2, 3-liter turbodiesel. The installation itself is not bad, however, many motorists would prefer gasoline internal combustion engines, especially since Mitsubishi has many good engines of this type. Also, the disadvantages include a rather high consumption. "Classmates" with similar units have less fuel consumption per 100 km of track in the combined cycle.
If we talk about the advantages of a minivan, then we can immediately distinguish a spectacular look. The car turned out to be very attractive and guarantees interest, attention and enthusiastic glances. Another undoubted plus of Delica is its spacious interior. Regardless of the number of seats, passengers with a dense build and tall stature can comfortably accommodate here.
Design
The appearance of the Japanese minivan cannot be called something exclusive, since the main design developments of the Mitsubishi brand, which are also found on other cars, are fully used here. By tradition, Delica received a spectacular front part, powerful "sides" and not the most prominent stern part. The car looks impressive, stylish, powerful and ultra-modern, however, at the first glance it becomes clear that the sporty look with aggressive features is just a wrapper, since a powerful internal combustion engine is not hidden under the hood.
The interior of the car is literally stuffed with high technology. It provides a practical layout and quality materials. It cannot be said that the interior evokes only positive emotions, however, in comparison with some "classmates" it looks quite worthy.
Sales start
The Japanese minivan is currently focused exclusively on the home market. The car appeared here back in 2019 and has not received significant changes since then. On the territory of Russia, such a model will not be sold, as, in principle, in other countries. At least we are talking about the current generation.
