Most Russian motorists have to consider buying a car in the budget segment, given their own financial capabilities. Fortunately, there are quite decent options in this category. For example, Renault Logan 2022 is a car that is considered the best seller on the Russian market. This car is distinguished by reliability, unpretentiousness and the ability to save money, both during purchase and during operation. The model can be called a rival for Lada Vesta, Hyundai Solaris, Kia Rio and Skoda Rapid. On the domestic market, the Frenchman is presented in two trim levels with a price tag of 718,000 to 910,000 rubles for the Access and Life versions.
The Renault Logan 2022 model became popular not for its rich configuration and impressive technical characteristics. On the contrary, car enthusiasts were attracted by the price, reliability and serviceability. These qualities made the car very popular on the territory of Russia, especially in the regions, and all this remained with the "Frenchman" in a new body. Against the background of such advantages, even not the most presentable appearance and a very dull interior design fades (you can evaluate it from the photo in the article).
From the factory, the manufacturer puts three gasoline-type power units on this model. Installations with a volume of 1, 6 liters are capable of developing 82, 102 and 113 horsepower. "Atmosferniks" allow transmitting up to 134, 145 and 152 N * m of torque to the wheels. In more accessible variations, a 5-speed "mechanics" is installed on the car. Rich versions provide for a 4-band "automatic". Renault Logan, like its European counterpart Dacia Logan, is produced only in front-wheel drive versions. The model cannot boast of moderate consumption and impressive dynamics. A five-seater sedan on average will spend 6, 6 - 8, 4 liters of fuel per 100 km of run in the combined cycle (AI-92 gasoline). From one place to the first "hundred" "Frenchman" accelerates in 10, 7 - 13, 9 seconds (standard indicators for a "state employee"). The maximum speed of the vehicle is limited to 170 - 177 km / h. Variations with an automatic transmission look noticeably slower (such modifications also have noticeably higher fuel consumption when driving around the city).
The sedan has slightly different dimensions than the "classmates". The model reaches 4 359 mm in length, 1,733 mm in width, and 1,517 mm in height. The wheelbase of the "Frenchman" is 2 634 mm. The ground clearance is comparable to the "classmates" - 155 mm. The curb weight depends on the selected engine and transmission variant 1 106 - 1 156 kg. The five-seater sedan cannot boast of a spacious interior, but it has a huge luggage compartment of 510 liters. In terms of the level of harmful emissions into the atmosphere, the model meets the requirements of the Euro-5 standard.
Options and prices
As mentioned earlier, Renault Logan 2022 for the Russian market in the second generation in a restyled version is sold in Access and Life versions at a price of 718,000 to 910,000 rubles. The final price tag of the car is directly influenced by the engine variant and the type of gearbox. The technical equipment between versions does not change as much as that of competitors.
In the "base" this car can be purchased only with a 1.6-liter unit with 82 hp. and with manual transmission. "Frenchman" will cost the buyer 718,000 rubles. The basic equipment includes options such as:

This configuration looks more interesting in comparison with the "base", since the buyer has a choice of motors and transmissions. It is worth noting that for 82 and 113-horsepower internal combustion engines, only "mechanics" are included in the kit, while with a 102-horsepower unit, an "automatic" is installed. The model will cost the buyer 755,000 - 910,000 rubles. A modification with an automatic transmission is more expensive. In addition to the equipment provided in the "base", the equipment includes such options as: factory tinting, adjustable steering column, outside air temperature sensor, front power windows, airbag for the front passenger, air conditioning, audio preparation. Renault Logan 2022 in this generation can be retrofitted with a wider range of special stages. For example, for a surcharge, a customer can order multimedia with a 5, 7-inch screen, 15-inch aluminum wheels, electric and heated mirrors, and a remote engine start function.

Although the "Frenchman" is famous for its reliability and sturdy body, it cannot be said that this model guarantees the protection of the driver and passengers as a result of a traffic accident. As usual, the safety of the car was checked according to the EuroNCAP crash test system and the model was able to score only 12 points, which corresponds to the "Three stars" rating. According to the standard, in this test, the car is judged on the four most important aspects. The safety of the driver and adult passengers - 71%. Protection of passengers-children - 73%. Protection of pedestrians and other vulnerable road users - 41%. Equipping the car with security systems - 40%.
Handling and off-road performance
In terms of handling, Renault Logan 2022 has established itself as a strong middle peasant. This model holds the road well and reacts responsively to the steering, however, during taxiing, due to the presence of the hydraulic booster, you may encounter some peculiarities. You can also praise this option for its excellent maneuverability, which was achieved due to its compact dimensions.
As for the off-road performance, they are very mediocre. The front wheel drive vehicle with 155mm ground clearance is suitable for dirt roads and rough terrain, but will not be able to prove itself off-road. Here, the model will fully demonstrate its helplessness, even in the face of a less significant obstacle.
Advantages and disadvantages
You can talk about the advantages of this car for a long time, and therefore it is better to highlight two main qualities. First of all, it is necessary to mention reliability. Regardless of how the car is operated, it will seem "unkillable" to its owner. This applies to both the main units and the chassis. The second important quality of the "Frenchman" is availability. The model is cheap to maintain, like no other. Moreover, in the Russian market, Logan contains not only budget original parts, but also more affordable analogues.
Unfortunately, as befits any modern car, there were some drawbacks. There are also two of them. First of all, it is the layout of the cabin and the quality of the finish. It leaves much to be desired, as does the lack of space. Another disadvantage is the car seats. On a long trip on the Logan, the driver and his fellow travelers will face all the attendant problems associated with uncomfortable seats.
The appearance of the "Frenchman" looks like it befits a standard "state employee", which has become a people's car. This is not to say that everything is so bad with the design of the car, however, in an era when the Chinese are conquering the market with their stylish models, the exterior, as well as the interior, leaves a negative impression. Most likely, this will be corrected in the next generation, although this will not be long enough, given the rapid growth rates of the development of the auto industry in the world.
If you look at the interior, it looks too simple, but at the same time impresses with its practicality. Everything inside is made cheaply, simply and with a certain outdated taste.
It is worth recalling that we are talking about the second generation Renault Logan car in a restyled version. "Budgetary" was officially presented in July 2018, after which free sales of the car began almost immediately. The initial appearance of the model on the domestic market took place in the summer of 2004.
Logan in this generation is a stretch, but it is still considered a competitor for models:
