At the current Tianjin Auto Show, Nissan has officially unveiled a new version of the Sylphy sedan, which has received the e-Power prefix to the name. This model is equipped with a hybrid powertrain. The fuel consumption of a car declared by the manufacturer is no more than 4.1 liters per 100 kilometers.
Externally, the new Nissan Sylphy e-Power differs little from the standard version of the model. However, its exterior appears to be more sporty. The front of the car has a branded V-shaped radiator grill, but it has been increased in size. Sharp headlights are placed around the edges of this element. In general, the entire front of the car looks angular. The side design is more unique. Double five-spoke wheels and a sloping roofline can be seen here. The feed of the Japanese model is rather laconic. The e-Power logo in the lower right corner makes the vehicle recognizable. The overall dimensions of the new items are 4649x1815x1445 mm, and the wheelbase is 2712 mm.
The interior of the Japanese model looks pretty standard. A three-spoke multifunction steering wheel with a sloped bottom is installed in front of the driver, behind which the dashboard is hidden. The infotainment complex's floating screen rises above the center console. Its diagonal is not yet known, but it looks quite large. Below there is a small block with physical keys. The gearbox is controlled using a stylish joystick. The interior itself is made in black and light brown, which looks very stylish.
As for the e-Power technology itself, it includes components such as a motor, generator, battery and inverter. In this case, the standard power unit starts up only when the battery charge is insufficient. According to the automaker, although a model with e-Power technology will nominally be considered a hybrid, its characteristics will still be closer to electric cars.
Under the hood of the Nissan Sylphy e-Power is a 1.2-liter engine paired with an electric motor. The power of a standard internal combustion engine is 72 horsepower. And the total output of the two units reaches 136 hp. As already mentioned, the fuel consumption declared by the manufacturer is 4.1 liters per 100 kilometers. As you can see from these figures, the Japanese novelty is more powerful than the Kia Rio and more economical than the Hyundai Sonata.
