Since the middle of the last century, there has been a saying that any car loves caress, cleaning and lubrication. With such statements, auto mechanics urged car owners to regularly take care of their iron horse so that the vehicle would serve in good condition for a long period of time. It should be noted that this applies not only to the lubricant, but also to the fuel used at the filling station.
Fill your car with only high-quality and correct fuel. Not all car owners understand what, in fact, is at stake. In this case, the fuel is taken into account, which is spelled out in the technical description for the car. Manufacturers give clear guidelines for the use of fuel, which must be adhered to throughout the entire service life. However, taking into account modern realities and the rapid rise in gasoline prices, motorists are trying to save money.
Many car owners in practice apply such a saving scheme as reducing the octane number. For example, according to the manufacturer's recommendations, a car should be refueled with AI-95 gasoline. However, in order to save money, the owner begins to fill in fuel of the AI-92 brand. You need to understand that this kind of manipulation ultimately will not lead to positive moments and can result in expensive repairs.
If we draw a parallel using the example of AI-98 and AI-95 gasoline, then it should be recalled that the latter ignites earlier. As a result, detonation occurs in the combustion chamber. In turn, this kind of fuel change has a detrimental effect on the unit itself. Of course, in order for everything to go smoothly, you can reconfigure the ECU, after which the power unit will start running smoothly. But that will not fundamentally fix the problem, for the simple reason that the engine itself will suffer from using the wrong lower octane fuel.
