The German brand Audi continues to test drives the new flagship model from the SUV segment - the Q9 crossover. The pre-production SUV is being tested for its driving performance throughout this year. There are not too many details about the new product. However, we can definitely say that in terms of dimensions, the SUV will surpass the current top-end Audi Q7.

On the roads, during the tests carried out, the car body is hidden under a dense protection, which does not allow to make out all the details of its exterior. But still, it is possible to draw a number of conclusions about what the future flagship from Audi will be. First of all, it is noticeable that the new car will receive a powerful hexagonal radiator grille, as well as head optics of an aggressive design. The front bumper will be quite massive. Vertical sections of the air intakes will be highlighted in it, into which the manufacturer will build foglights.
The technical capabilities of the new Audi Q9 have not yet been announced. It is assumed that the novelty will be built on the basis of the latest MLB Evo platform. It is already the basis for many large modern models produced by the VAG corporation (Volkswagen Touareg, Porsche Cayenne, etc.). This solution will make it possible to create a body, the length of which will exceed 5.2 meters.
The current flagship of the Audi Q7
According to rumors, which are now actively accompanying the news about the future flagship of Audi, under the hood of the Q9 there will be a 4-liter 690 "horsepower" gasoline engine. Also, the option with the installation of a hybrid unit is not excluded. But this version is likely to debut on the market later. The start of cross-country sales is scheduled for next year. The main rivals of the Audi Q9 should be the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS.
