Renault Logan car from the very beginning has established itself as a reliable and unpretentious in maintenance "public sector", which is optimal for Russian roads. This model does not have rich configurations or impressive technical characteristics, but at the same time it boasts an affordable price and good cross-country ability. In addition to this, we must pay tribute to the fact that the sedan retained the best features of the "regular" Logan, but at the same time it does not differ so much from it in appearance (you can evaluate the car in the new body from the photo in the article).

Three familiar power units are installed on the "Frenchman". We are talking about 1, 6-liter gasoline internal combustion engines of the atmospheric type, which generate 82, 102 and 113 horsepower, as well as 134, 145 and 152 N * m of torque. For 82 and 113-horsepower engines, a 5-speed manual transmission is used. Also, with a 113-horsepower internal combustion engine, a variator is installed in special versions of the City. Models with a 102-horsepower engine are equipped with a 4-speed "automatic". All vehicles are sold with front wheel drive. It is worth noting that the "Frenchman" in the Stepway version, as in principle and in the usual generation, does not differ in "gluttony". On average, for every 100 km of run in the combined cycle, 6, 7 - 8, 3 liters of fuel (AI-92 gasoline) will go away. In the current generation, Logan meets the Euro-5 environmental standard in terms of harmful emissions into the atmosphere. The model is distinguished by not the worst dynamics among the "classmates" with acceleration to a hundred in 11 - 13, 9 seconds, depending on the modification. "Maximum speed" is limited to 160 - 172 km / h.

The sedan differs from the regular version only in ground clearance. Otherwise, in terms of the body, it is still the same car, reaching 4,368 mm in length, 1,761 mm in width, and 1,571 mm in height. Wheelbase Stepway - 2 634 mm. The ground clearance is increased to 195 mm. In the City variants, the ground clearance is 178 mm. The curb weight of the model depends on the power unit and transmission 1 077 - 1 154 kg. The five-seater car received a spacious trunk, which can accommodate 510 liters of cargo. The fuel tank is designed for 50 liters of fuel.

The French-made Renault Logan Stepway 2022 model is presented on the domestic market in Life and Drive trim levels. Also on sale are special versions of Life City and Drive City. As mentioned earlier, the price of a car varies from 864,000 to 1,028,000 rubles. The power part of the model, as well as the level of equipment, noticeably affects the price tag.

The Drive City variation is sold only with a CVT and a 113-horsepower engine. Drive versions are available with two motors, 102 and 113 hp, as well as with "mechanics" or "automatic". For standard packages you will have to pay 973,000 and 1,004,000 rubles. The equipment of Drive City includes such options as: an outside temperature sensor, a button to start the engine, rear power windows, side airbags, cruise control, ESP, climate control, navigation, multimedia with a 7-inch screen.

Safety

As for safety, in this regard, the "Frenchman" cannot boast of outstanding results, like the standard model Logan, according to the results of crash tests, not the most outstanding indicators were revealed. Overall, the sedan achieved a Two Star rating in EuroNCAP testing. It is worth recalling that here the car is evaluated in four aspects. The safety of the driver, as well as of adult passengers - 70%. Protection of passengers-children - 72%. Pedestrian safety, as well as other vulnerable road users - 41%. The results are mediocre, but at the same time, do not forget that we are talking about a "state employee", in the creation of which the manufacturer had to save.

Handling and off-road performance

It should be noted right away that the Renault Logan Stepway 2022 is not an SUV, but a passenger car with increased ground clearance. That is why you do not need to expect that the car will feel good off-road. As practice shows, here the driver clearly cannot cope without assistance. This is not the case with dirt roads and rough terrain. Here, the sedan feels comfortable and practically does not notice large pits and bumps.

In the city, the model demonstrates very mediocre performance. This is not to say that the Logan is notable for poor handling, however, its performance is far from ideal, especially if we take into account the presence of a hydraulic booster, and not a classic electric power steering. Also, on paved roads, you will have to fully experience all the mediocrity of the dynamics.

Advantages and disadvantages

Many compatriots choose this car because of their financial situation, given that the car does not have impressive characteristics and rich equipment, and yet it cannot be said that Logan is devoid of advantages. As practice has shown, there are a lot of them, but among them it is worth highlighting the most significant. First of all, the reliability and unpretentiousness of the suspension should be noted. It may seem indestructible, no matter how the machine is operated. It is also necessary to mention the availability of service. Today Logan and Logan Stepway are almost the cheapest cars in maintenance that can only be purchased on the domestic market.

If we talk about the shortcomings, then here we can immediately highlight the level of security. In modern realities, many pay special attention to this indicator.

Design

Renault Logan Stepway's appearance can be called another clear flaw. In modern realities, it is simply outdated, while a similar moment can even be mentioned about the direct release of the car into the series. If the front side of the sedan can somehow still evoke positive emotions, then the stern and side parts of few people will show positive impressions. You can't scold Logan for that, given the cost of the car.

As for the interior, it looks more interesting. Practicality is striking here, as well as the desire to comply with newfangled trends. The salon of the "Frenchman" looks simple, but at the same time leaves behind some positive emotions.

Sales start

The French model with increased ground clearance appeared on the market much later than the usual variations. The official debut of the car in the first generation took place in August 2018. It is noteworthy that the special versions of City were released a few months later, namely in December of the same year.
