If the presentation of new cars in 2020 with only electric motors is scheduled for February, then March will delight fans of crossovers. The debut of several SUVs of different sizes is scheduled for this month. However, manufacturers will not forget to meet the growing needs of green vehicle enthusiasts by offering their own hybrid crossover options. But you should start with a non-standard modification of the BMW 3-Series.

Alpina b3

The Alpina B3 is a restyled version of the popular BMW 3-Series sedan. It should appeal not only to fans of the Bavarian brand, but also to sports cars. The tuned sedan should replace the yet-to-be-released 2020 M3. Alpina engineers prepared the same 3.0-liter turbocharged engine for the Bavarian model, the power of which was increased to 462 hp, and the maximum torque was increased to 516 N * m. The all-wheel drive system was borrowed out of the box from the BMW 3-Series. Alpina B3 in this version, according to the declared characteristics, gains the first 100 km / h in 3, 8 seconds, developing no more than 303 km / h.

Bmw x6m

The long-awaited "charged" version of the coupe BMW X6, which has recently been updated. This new 2020 SUV is powered by a bi-turbo engine that develops up to 616 hp. net power and 750 N * m of torque. The BMW X6M comes in a special Competition version. This version is fitted with custom-made leather seats. The Bavarian SUV has acquired a completely new exhaust system that provides a more powerful "roar", and other alloy wheels. Note that despite its status, the BMW X6M only slightly outperforms the standard version of the car in terms of performance.

BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe

The introduction of the CLA sedan at Mercedes-Benz forced BMW to expand its range of front-wheel drive vehicles. The new 2-Series Gran Coupe is slated to launch in March, based on the FAAR platform used today in the production of 1-Series sedans. This new car in 2020 compares favorably with other representatives of its segment. The fact is that for the 2-Series, BMW has prepared an expanded list of power units, starting with a 1.5-liter turbo engine with 130 hp. and ending with a biturbo unit with a return of 302 hp.

Land rover defender

The revived British SUV hits the market in March 2020. Land Rover Defender made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show, which took place about six months before the start of car sales. At this event, representatives of the British brand said that the new model combines the usual capabilities of this SUV, classic features and modern equipment. Almost immediately after the presentation, it became known that the Land Rover Defender will be presented in four versions and with three different bodies (differ mainly in length). In addition, 2 more commercial versions of the SUV are expected to hit the market.

But, as it turned out, the developers are not going to stop at the stated goals. In the second half of 2020, the Land Rover Defender, equipped with a hybrid power plant, will enter the global market. A few months after that, the largest version of the SUV will be released, and later an electrified version of the British model will go on sale.

Mercedes-AMG GLE

2 new 2020 crossovers from Mercedes-AMG will be released in March. The German concern has prepared for this month "charged" modifications for the GLE model and its version with a coupe-like body. Both crossovers are offered a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces about 429 hp. net power and 519 N * m of torque. This engine accelerates a 2-ton car to 100 km / h in about 5.3 seconds. The new engine is complemented by a 48-volt on-board electrical system, which is responsible for fuel economy.

Skoda Citigo-iV

Skoda Citigo-iV is distinguished by its compact size and responsive steering. Despite the relatively low-power electric motor with which the Czech novelty is equipped, it is capable of reaching the first 100 km / h in 12.3 seconds, which is one of the best indicators among modern inexpensive electric cars. Officially, the technical characteristics of the Skoda Citigo-iV were not declassified at the time of this writing. But according to the statements of the representatives of the Czech brand, the car can cover up to 259 kilometers without recharging.

Smart fortwo

Unlike other new cars for 2020, which are slated for release in March, this novelty has changed less noticeably. The Smart Fortwo, whose length reaches 2,700 mm, has undergone another restyling, providing the ultra-compact hatchback with a redesigned front end of the body and a new multimedia system. At the same time, the engineers corrected the technical part. As a result, the new Smart Fortwo received an 84-horsepower electric motor and a 17.6-kilowatt battery, providing a range of 161 kilometers. A little later, the European market will see the new Fortwo Cabrio and Forfour with a similar technical part, redesigned in the same style.

Uniti one

A completely unknown Swedish brand is preparing to launch a compact car in March 2020, which will only be supplied to private customers. Uniti plans to produce One in small batches, equipping its model with only three seats (like the McLaren F1). It is known that the Swedish novelty in the minimum configuration will cost 1.2 million rubles. The total weight of the car is only 600 kilograms, and the power reserve reaches 138 kilometers.

Opel Corsa-e

Opel has prepared its own new car in 2020 for March, capable of competing on equal terms with the updated Renault Zoe, which will be released a month earlier. The German hatchback, as stated by the manufacturer, is capable of covering up to 340 kilometers without recharging. According to preliminary data, the new Opel Corsa-e will cost about 2.14 million rubles.

Volkswagen golf

Everything is already known about the eighth generation Volkswagen Golf. In the fall of 2019, the manufacturer completely declassified its new product, telling about its configuration and technical characteristics. The hatchback has got a completely new body, providing better aerodynamics, and a fully digital instrument panel. Golf has access to several older engines that have gone through deep modernization, and a "mild" hybrid.

Volkswagen T-Roc Cabrio

The release of perhaps the most original crossover is scheduled for March 2020. The T-Roc Cabrio will be the only SUV with a folding roof. Unlike the standard crossover, this model comes with a three-door body and a longer wheelbase. The T-Roc Cabrio will come with 1 and 1.5 liter turbo engines. Volvo XC40 T5 Twin Engine

Rounding out this list is a hybrid version of one of the most popular crossovers of 2019. The hybrid unit installed on the crossover is capable of producing about 258 hp in aggregate. And all the traction in the new Volvo XC40 is transmitted only to the front wheels. When the electric motor is running and the internal combustion engine is off, the car drives no more than 47 kilometers. The Swedish novelty is worth 3, 27 million rubles.
