The 2020 BMW 6 Series embodies what the Bavarian brand calls a family car. The German liftback combines four-wheel drive, air suspension with sporty settings, a comfortable and spacious interior, a large trunk and "rich" equipment. Considering the specifics of the BMW 6-Series Gran Turismo, then this model has no direct competitors. But despite this feature, the manufacturer offers 5 turbocharged engines with it at once, 3 of which consume diesel fuel. And in terms of equipment, which includes 3 touch monitors, a virtual instrument panel and an extensive list of safety systems, the 6-Series GT is able to outperform premium sedans.
Options and prices
The 2020 BMW 6 Series has a new body. This model, judging by the published photos, acquired a sporty look, but retained its recognizable shape. The changes made to the exterior design practically did not affect the trim levels and prices. The manufacturer also retained the previous technical characteristics, leaving the same set of power units for its model.

Sport Line
Until recently, the Bavarian model was offered in four versions. But now the starting equipment is the Sport Line version, offered for 3.75 million rubles. This money is requested for a version with rear-wheel drive, automatic transmission and a 249-horsepower turbo engine. For an all-wheel drive version with a starting diesel engine, you will have to pay 50 thousand rubles. The 2020 BMW 6 Series with a 249-horsepower turbodiesel will cost another 450 thousand rubles more. The installation of a more powerful diesel engine is estimated at an additional 540 thousand rubles. The top modification with a gasoline turbo engine costs 4.26 million rubles.

Buyers of the starter version of the Bavarian liftback can count on the availability of:
- a two-zone air conditioner (for a surcharge there is a four-zone one) with an ionizer and an air aromatizer;
- satellite anti-theft system;
- parking camera;
- touch monitor 10, 25 inches;
- navigation system;
- audio systems with 12 speakers and a separate joystick control;
- anti-lock brakes, collision avoidance, adaptive speed hold, stability control and brake assist;
- front and rear parking radars;
- wheel pressure monitoring sensors and tire puncture warnings.

Standard on all BMW 6-Series GT modifications are electric power steering, which is complemented by heated and leather braiding, LED optics in a circle, braking energy recovery and self-supporting tires. Available to the liftback are electrically adjustable exterior mirrors and a tailgate, a start button for the engine, a 12.3-inch screen on the dashboard and 6 airbags. By default, the front seats come with a servo-drive capable of memorizing settings and heating. And optionally, you can complete the Bavarian model by:
- air suspension with sporty settings;
- electric sunroof;
- projection screen;
- ventilated front seats with massage function;
- heated rear sofa;
- an assistant when driving uphill;
- lane control systems, adaptive road lighting, blind spot monitoring and night vision with people recognition function;
- parking assistant;
- all-round cameras;
- monitors built into the backrests of the first row of seats.

The 6-Series Gran Turismo Starter comes with genuine leather seats. There are also decorative inserts that decorate the interior.

Luxury Line
The average configuration of the 2020 BMW 6-Series GT is estimated at almost 3.8 million rubles. Together with this version, as well as with the subsequent, you can purchase the same engines and transmissions. It differs from the starting equipment of the Luxury Line by the presence of a heated rear sofa, a high-beam control system, an automatic valet parking and premium acoustics with 16 speakers.

M Sport
Top-end equipment, prices for which start at 4.04 million rubles, is allocated due to a new aerodynamic body kit. But this modification lacks an automatic valet parking, virtual instrument panel and adaptive cruise control, which are offered as an option.

Specifications
The standard 2020 BMW 6-Series GT is equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission, which transfers all traction to the rear wheels, and a 2-liter turbocharged engine. The latter produces about 249 hp. net power and 400 N * m of torque. With this combination, the German liftback gains 100 km / h in 6.3 seconds, consuming an average of 7 liters of fuel.

A turbocharged diesel engine of the same volume, combined with an all-wheel drive transmission, will cost a little more. This motor already produces 190 hp. net power and 400 N * m of torque. Together with him, the Bavarian model accelerates to 100 km / h in 8 seconds and consumes about 5.4 liters of fuel.

Next on the list are 3-liter engines. The cheapest will be a 249-horsepower engine with a maximum thrust of 620 N * m. With it, the BMW 6-Series GT develops 100 km / h in 6 seconds with an average consumption of 5.7 liters. For a surcharge, a turbocharged petrol unit with a maximum output of 340 hp is offered. with a torque of 450 N * m. This motor provides acceleration in 5.3 seconds and consumes 8.5 liters of fuel. At the top of the engine lineup is a 320-horsepower turbodiesel, which already produces 680 N * m. From this technical part, the German liftback accelerates to 100 km / h in 5.3 seconds and consumes 6.5 liters.

By default, the BMW 6-Series GT is equipped with a rear air suspension. For a surcharge, front tires are also offered, which can increase the ground clearance by 20 mm.

Design
Due to the fact that the BMW 6-Series GT underwent a planned restyling, all the changes made were of a point nature. The engineers slightly redesigned the internal architecture of the head optics, making it a little smaller. The branded radiator grille with a metal edging has been slightly lengthened. At the same time, the front bumper has expanded due to an increase in the size of the center and side air intakes.

In profile, as well as in the back, the Bavarian liftback remains the same. There are large headlights aft, tapering towards the center of a massive tailgate with a prominent spoiler at the top. The rear bumper is complemented by compact air vents.

The interior of the 6-Series GT is decorated in a classic style for the latest Bavarian models. There is a center console turned towards the driver with a touchscreen monitor located on top and two narrow climate and acoustics control units. The high transmission tunnel contains a standard gearshift lever and keys with a suspension and four-wheel drive adjustment washer. The developed lateral support of the German liftback differs not only in the front, but also in the rear seats.

Release dates
At the time of writing the article about the BMW 6-Series Gran Turismo, the release date in Russia remained unknown. Most likely, the car will arrive in our country almost immediately after the presentation. This is supported by the fact that the liftback practically did not change after restyling.
Competitors

As already noted, the BMW 6 Series has no direct competitors, since this model combines the comfort and safety of premium sedans and the convenience of family cars.
