Representatives of Renault some time ago raised the issue of reviving the Moskvich brand. Recall that the French concern today owns an automobile plant that produced this car. Renault has not yet made a final decision on the return of this model. However, Moskvich can help the French company enter those segments of the Russian market in which it is absent. In particular, with the help of this brand, Renault is able to launch production of business-class models that can compete with the Hyundai Sonata or Toyota Camry.
Moreover, the independent designer showed in which direction the Moskvich-412 2021-2022 could develop if it returns to the market. He published a series of renders with a new version of the Soviet model, presented as a "charged" coupe, which is decorated in the style of American muscle cars. This "Moskvich" is distinguished by an angular outline of the body with a low-set roof, an elongated hood and a shortened stern. In front of the presented novelty there is a large radiator grille with small lamellas, which abut against the rectangular head optics with LED filling. The massive bumper below contains a large air intake and air vents, which are adjacent to the blocks of additional lights.
The indicated design solutions are designed to improve stability and, as a result, controllability of the vehicle. The low ground clearance also contributes to this. At the stern of the presented novelty, there are quite familiar lanterns, also containing LEDs. And in the rear bumper there is a cutout for twin pipes.
Despite the fact that the presented Moskvich-412 2021-2022 is a prototype created by an independent designer, Renault may well launch such a car into production. The fact is that the French company has already begun adapting Russian facilities to the new CMF-B-LS platform, which allows the creation of such machines. At the same time, considering that the presented "Moskvich" is designed in the style of sports cars, it is likely that it will receive powerful motors. The candidate for the main unit for this model is the 1.8-liter turbocharged engine found in the Megane RS. The maximum output of this motor is 300 hp, the traction moment is 420 N * m.
It is also possible that for Moskvich they will borrow a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine from the Clio RS. Its maximum power reaches 200 hp.
