The Audi A5 was supposed to change a generation by 2020. However, the manufacturer limited itself to restyling, which makes it difficult for the German model to compete with the Volkswagen Passat CC and BMW 3-Series. However, the Audi A5 can offer its customers a good technical part, which consists of a robotic gearbox, four-wheel drive and 3 turbocharged engines of 2 liters, including one diesel. The standard equipment of the German model is "poor" in comparison with its closest competitors. But as an option, buyers of the Audi A5 receive a sports suspension, a virtual instrument panel, many security systems and driver's assistants, all-round cameras and other equipment.
Options and prices
The 2020 Audi A5, released in a relatively new body, differs from its predecessor in several significant details. First of all, judging by the photo, the car has acquired a completely different grille. At the same time, the sedan retained the same configuration and prices, as well as technical characteristics. This is due to the fact that Audi is satisfied with the sales of the previous version of its model.
S Tronic
The starting version, estimated at 2.6 million rubles, is offered along with a 190-horsepower turbo engine, front-wheel drive and a robotic gearbox. In the initial configuration of the 2020 Audi A5, you can find:

The list of optional equipment on the Audi A5 is very wide. It includes:
- sports suspension;
- sports front seats with lumbar support, massage, ventilation and electric drive, memory settings;
- projection display;
- 12.3-inch dashboard monitor;
- sunroof;
- adaptive cruise;
- motor start button;
- heated rear row of seats and steering wheel;
- assistant on the rise;
- adaptive road lighting, blind spot monitoring, intelligent parking assistance and collision avoidance.
An optional three-zone air conditioning unit with separate control is available with this configuration.
Advance
The 2020 Audi A5 in the Advance version is available for almost 2.82 million rubles. The manufacturer asks for this money for the appearance of LED headlights, a combined seat trim, a heated steering wheel, an electric driver's seat and a three-zone climate control system.
Design and Sport packages
Two optional Sport and Design packages are estimated at 3.052 and 3.062 million rubles, respectively. They are offered with all-wheel drive and a 2-liter turbodiesel. The appearance of a 249-horsepower engine will cost an additional 210 thousand rubles. The first package included sports front seats and suspension, 18-inch wheels and S Line body kit, the second - original finishing materials.

Specifications
The 2020 Audi A5 is based on the modular MLB platform, which has allowed engineers to reduce the overall weight of the vehicle. The German model is based on fully independent multi-link suspension. With top-end engines, there is also a proprietary all-wheel drive, realized through a multi-plate clutch. Adaptive dampers are available as an option, which can be recalibrated in three modes.
In the starting modifications, a 2-liter turbocharged engine with a direct fuel injection system is hidden under the hood of the liftback. This unit develops about 190 hp. net power and 320 N * m of torque. In combination with a 7-speed robotic gearbox, which is offered with all engines, the base engine provides acceleration to 100 km / h in 7.5 seconds, while consuming about 5.4 liters of fuel.
In medium trim levels, a turbocharged diesel engine of the same volume appears. Its maximum output reaches 190 HP, and the thrust level is 400 N * m. Complementing the plug-in all-wheel drive, the turbodiesel allows the liftback to accelerate to 100 km / h in 7.4 seconds, consuming up to 4.6 liters of fuel.
The top engine is the base unit, the maximum power of which was increased to 249 hp, bringing the thrust to 370 N * m. With such a technical part, the Audi A5 produces 100 km / h in 6 seconds and consumes about 6.3 liters of gasoline.
Design
As part of the modernization, the Audi A5 has undergone changes designed to improve the appearance of the car. As a result, the German liftback acquired an updated grille with a coarse mesh in the center and a redesigned front bumper with extended side air intakes. On the hood, large recesses now flaunt, which abut the tapered head optics.
Along the side doors of the Audi A5, there is a prominent embossing that connects the front and rear parts of the body. The roofline merges smoothly into the tailgate, "resting" on the pronounced spoiler. At the rear of the liftback there are also rather narrow headlights with LED filling and a massive bumper with two large exhaust pipes.
The interior of the German novelty remained practically unchanged. As before, the dashboard is adorned with a wide touchscreen monitor, under which the standard climate control unit is located. The top versions of the Audi A5 use a customizable dashboard. The transmission tunnel of the German model is framed by protruding strips and rises slightly, "moving" towards the center console.
Start of sales
An updated version of the Audi A5 debuted at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. Car sales are scheduled for six months after the presentation. That is, the liftback will enter the market (so far only European) around February 2020.
Competitors
The updated liftback will compete with:
