Despite the fact that since its inception, the Soviet, and then the Russian car industry has been popular mainly in the CIS countries, cars manufactured in our country are of interest also abroad. This is evidenced by the recent news, according to which an American entrepreneur bought the ZIL brand. Then it was reported that they plan to use this brand for the production of Colonel army SUVs, however, the appearance of another model is not excluded in the lineup. We are talking about a pickup truck ZIL-4331 2021-2022.
The presented novelty visually looks more compact than its main competitors. This impression is largely due to the fact that the car is equipped with a small cargo platform. At the same time, one more important detail should be noted: the pickup received a relatively small cabin. This design feature indicates that the model has only nominally installed seats in the back: they are not able to fully perform their functions. However, this does not mean that this model is losing the status of a family car.
The new ZIL pickup truck, despite such a non-standard configuration of the cargo platform, is in many ways similar to modern SUVs. This emphasizes the design of the front end of the body. The declared front pillars and rounded stern give the presented pickup a more sporty look. However, as will be shown later, this model will not demonstrate enviable dynamics. On the wall that separates the cab from the cargo platform, the developer has placed a compact glass and an additional brake light.
The Colonel SUV mentioned earlier is planned to be equipped with a 6, 2-liter engine developed by Chrysler. But the presented pickup, while retaining the same platform from Jeep, will receive different engines. This decision will keep the prices for the novelty at the level of three million rubles.
In this case, the ZIL-4331 2021-2022 pickup should receive the same engine range with which the Commander is being marketed today. That is, the "atmospheric" engine with a volume of 2.4 liters will act as the basic unit of the novelty, the maximum output of which reaches 177 hp. Optionally, with a pickup, they can offer a 272-horsepower naturally aspirated engine with a volume of 3.2 liters. Each engine is equipped with only a 9-speed automatic transmission. Also, with the novelty, they will offer four-wheel drive with electronic settings.
