JAC iEV7S is a subcompact electric crossover manufactured by the Chinese concern JAC. The model is based on the classic gasoline SUV JAC S2. For the first time, this model appeared in the Chinese car market back in 2017. Compact-cross is delivered to our country from the territory of Kazakhstan, where SKD assembly takes place. The start of sales of electric cross in Russia was announced in September 2020, although the developer had previously planned to launch the sale of the SUV in 2018. The 2021 iEV7S jack is still available to domestic buyers in a single configuration, costing 2.3 million rubles. The main rivals of the model include the Hyundai Ioniq, Volkswagen e-Golf, and Nissan Leaf.
Options and prices
Despite the fact that the 2021 Jak iEV7S model is built on the basis of the previously produced JAC S2, this cross is not available for the Russian market, which means that the electric car has received a completely new body. The number of available configurations is still limited to one, as well as the technical characteristics at the moment do not have a wide variety. At the moment, the JAC electric car is presented on the Russian market in a single variation, the price of which is 2,299,000 rubles. In the list of the main features for the SUV, the manufacturer included:

At the moment, the 2021 JAC iEV7S is available for order with the only powertrain option - an electric motor with a power of 92 kW and a torque of 270 N * m. In addition, the crossover is equipped with a battery, the output of which is 39 kWh. It allows the car to cover a distance of 300 km when fully charged. The speed of recharging the battery when using a 220V outlet is 18 hours. As a transmission, the electric boxer is equipped with a gearbox, and the leading drive is only front-wheel drive.
These power parameters of the cross allow it to accelerate from zero to hundreds in 11 seconds, and the car will reach a speed of 50 km / h in 4 seconds. The maximum with which the JAC iEV7S is capable of moving is 130 km / h. This limitation is set by the manufacturer in order to reduce the level of battery consumption.
The chassis of the SUV consists of a front independent suspension, built on the basis of MacPherson struts, and a rear semi-independent torsion bar. The braking system is represented by disc mechanisms installed on all wheels. The steering is based on a pinion-rack and is additionally equipped with an electric booster.
The main overall parameters of the cross can be distinguished as follows:

Handling and off-road performance
Driving the compact model is generally okay. The suspension copes very well with bumps and bumps in the road surface. The choice of different driving options provides the ability to change the behavior of the built-in power unit. The only serious drawback can be called the steering mechanism of the car. There is almost no zero position here. The steering wheel "floats near zero", but it clearly cannot occupy it. The lack of feedback also affects during a significant deviation of the steering wheel from zero, which does not allow you to navigate in the depth of the bend in which the car enters.
It is generally not recommended to use electrocross in off-road conditions. Low ground clearance, lack of an all-wheel drive system, as well as weak technical characteristics do not allow us to count on successful driving on heavy ground. This model is a typical urban cross, which can count on successfully overcoming bumps and bumps on the road.
One of the greatest advantages of a car is the minimum cost associated with maintaining the car. Unlike the majority of electric vehicles, JAC can be called a budget model. The amount of transport tax payable to the budget during the year is 2850 rubles, which is the smallest figure among all SUV representatives on the market. The cost of purchasing an OSAGO policy will be 8-8, 5 thousand. The costs associated with regular maintenance will not be higher than for other JAC models that are available in Russia.
Dynamic performance and fuel consumption
As for the dynamics, the electrocross will not yield to the majority of "classmates" equipped with classic engines. Acceleration to 100 km / h is carried out in just 11 seconds, which can be called a fairly good indicator. The compact crossover generally reaches 50 km / h in 4 seconds, which can be called an excellent result. Therefore, the owner of the 2021 JAC iEV7S will not experience problems with dynamics and travel both in the city and on the highway.
With regard to fuel consumption, then, as already mentioned, under conditions of a speed limit of no more than 130 km / h, the compact model will be able to cover a distance of 300 km. But only if the battery is fully charged. If you maintain a speed limit of 60 km / h, then the maximum you can count on is 135 km / h.
The exterior of the compact electric crossover cannot be called overly modern. Apparently, this perception is influenced by the fact that more than four years have passed since the official debut of the cross on the market. During this period, the approach to the design of new cars has changed quite seriously in the global automotive industry. Therefore, the rounded body appearance gives out the age of the compact cross. Also noteworthy is the fact that the exterior of the 2021 Jak IEV7S contains blue inserts, which make it possible to accurately determine that this model belongs to the segment of electric vehicles.
The front part of the body looks somewhat specific and at a cursory glance resembles a panda. A non-standard radiator grill with filling in the form of small cells is installed here, through which the radiator of the electric motor and the battery of the cross is blown. In this part, you can also notice the opening hatch, under which there is a connector for charging the battery. The headlights are large and quite impressively look against the general background of the compact model. In the lower part of the front bumper there is a cutout for the air intake, along the edges of which the manufacturer installed fog lights in special niches.
On the side, the body turned out to be classic, fully consistent with the design principles of cars of the segment in which the model is presented. The rear part received a short tailgate, under which a slightly protruding bumper is located. The developers installed a plastic insert in it. By analogy with the headlights, the taillights have received a large size and stand out in an original way against the background of the small tailgate.
The car interior is assembled with sufficient quality, and according to its execution it is impossible to say that this car is equipped with an electric power plant. Vehicle functionality is average. The compact crossover is devoid of any special arrangement options for devices or ultra-modern technological solutions. In the upper part of the console there are air vents installed, under which there is an 8-inch display for adjusting the capabilities of the multimedia system. A climate control unit is installed immediately below it.
We can say that the central tunnel of the compact cross turned out to be even more technologically advanced than its console. Here you will find an electrical outlet and a USB connector, several cupholders, a transmission control selector and a button to activate the electronic parking brake. Even here, a system for activating built-in security services, a compartment for small things and an armrest is available. The seats of the electric car are of sufficient quality, equipped with decent lateral support and head restraints. Due to the not too large dimensions of the car, there is enough space in the cabin for landing five passengers, but still there is not so much of it as these same passengers would like.
The manufacturer announced the start of sales of this model in the Russian car market in September 2020. It is known that a compact electric car is delivered to the territory of Russia from an assembly line in Kazakhstan, where the car is assembled.
