Peugeot 2008 2022, like other recent products from the French brand, stands out from the competition with its smooth running and low fuel consumption. The car, offered in Russia at a price of 1.67 million rubles, comes only with a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine, which is presented in three modifications. Despite the rather high cost, the French model is poorly equipped by default. Complete with the basic version, a standard set of equipment and driver's assistants is offered. But in the top-end modifications there are monitoring of the condition of the motorist, leather trim, intelligent cruise control and other equipment. Specifications

Appearing in Russia in a new body, Peugeot 2008 in 2022 offered buyers a perfectly tuned chassis and a comfortable interior, which, as the published photos show, makes the crossover completely different from direct competitors. At the same time, as noted earlier, the French model has relatively "poor" basic configurations, for which they ask for a fairly large amount. This disadvantage is partially offset by the technical characteristics of the crossover. More precisely, low fuel consumption.

All versions of the Peugeot 2008 are equipped with only a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine. But in the basic version, this unit develops no more than 100 hp. with a maximum pulling moment of 205 N * m. In this case, the motor is combined only with a 6-speed manual transmission. Peugeot 2008 in this version accelerates to 100 km / h in 10.8 seconds, consuming an average of 6.4 liters of fuel. In the middle trim levels, a 130-horsepower version of the turbo engine appears, delivering up to 230 N * m of torque. This version of the engine is combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission, together with which it provides acceleration to 100 km / h in 10.2 seconds and consumes about 6.5 liters. Recently, a 150-horsepower version of the turbo engine with a maximum thrust of 240 N * m has become available in Russia. This version of the motor is combined with an 8-speed "automatic". Peugeot 2008 in this version gains 100 km / h in 8, 7 seconds and consumes about 6, 1 liters.

In Europe, the French model has a wider motor range. Here Peugeot 2008 can be purchased with a 1.5-liter turbodiesel unit, which produces up to 100 or 130 hp. power. There is also an all-electric version of the crossover with a 136-horsepower engine that develops no more than 260 N * m of thrust. This variation of the French model uses a 50 kWh battery for a total range of 310 kilometers.

The basis of Peugeot 2008 is the proprietary EMP2 platform, which provides for the placement of McPherson struts in front and a torsion beam at the rear. The length of the French model is 4300 mm, width - 1770 mm, height - 1530 mm. The wheelbase is 2605 mm, the ground clearance is 219 mm.

Options and prices

Peugeot 2008 in Russia it is presented in three versions. With the basic version, a 100-horsepower engine is available, and with the top-end version, a 150-horsepower one.

Prices for the French model in Russia start at 1.67 million rubles. Peugeot 2008 is equipped as standard with a start / stop system, electric power steering and steel wheels with a radius of 16 inches. In the basic version, the headlights are complemented by halogen lights, while the rest of the optics are presented in the form of LED lights. In addition, by default, Peugeot 2008 received cruise control and rear parking sensors. As an option with the basic version, there are navigation and a frontal impact warning system that can stop the crossover.

The next equipment on the list is offered for a minimum of 2.05 million rubles. Peugeot 2008 2022 in this version for an extra charge acquires a two-tone body with a black roof. Allure comes standard with:

Peugeot 2008 2022 in the top performance, estimated at 2.17 million rubles, acquires an original body kit, sports seats of the first row and a black roof. The list of onboard equipment in this configuration is expanding due to front parking sensors, a tracking system for "blind" areas and fully LED lighting equipment, including fog lights. For a surcharge, the top version is supplied with seats with upholstery made of artificial leather and front seats with electric drive and massage.

Safety

As in the case of the "older" crossovers, Peugeot 2008 stands out from the competition with a well-developed design and the presence of electronic assistants that provide a high level of safety. Crash test results show that the French model protects the driver and front passenger from damage in the event of a frontal impact with an 85% probability. The level of safety of the child sitting in the second row turned out to be slightly worse. However, the second indicator is largely determined by the characteristics of the child seat used.

Handling and off-road performance

The developers of Peugeot 2008 have tried to minimize the driver's influence on the built-in safety equipment as much as possible. Therefore, in the French model, only the anti-slip system can be disabled. At the same time, in the course of a generational change, Peugeot engineers have almost completely changed the settings of the steering mechanism, which now quickly adapts to the current speed.

The French novelty surprisingly accurately follows a given route, without deviating from a straight line even when making maneuvers. However, if the driver sharply turns the steering wheel, then the crossover will quickly go into a skid. At the same time, Peugeot 2008 lacks a sports driving mode, so the car does not show good dynamics. On the other hand, the crossover has got a truncated steering wheel, which is now easier to turn.

Regardless, the engine is capable of adapting to different driving styles. That is, if the owner often presses the gas pedal, then the engine "learns" to respond more quickly to such actions, and this will lead to improved acceleration dynamics. Suspension of Peugeot 2008 easily “swallows” irregularities, and built-in systems provide stability on snowy or slippery roads. However, the French model is not adapted for constant off-road driving, although its ground clearance reaches 219 mm.

Advantages and disadvantages

Among the advantages of the French model are:

• user-friendly multimedia interface;
• high-quality undercarriage;
• soft suspension.

Compared to its closest competitors, the Peugeot 2008 surpasses them in off-road ability and smooth ride. In particular, the Hyundai Creta is not capable of boasting such features. But Peugeot 2008 costs 1.5 times more than the Korean model. Because of this, the repair of a French crossover costs a fairly large amount.

Design

Stylistically, the new generation Peugeot 2008 approached the "older" models. From them, the French crossover borrowed the original radiator grille with a volumetric pattern formed by many small metal strips. On the sides of it are standard optics, from which thin LED DRL strips extend downward. The front bumper of the Peugeot 2008 has also been redesigned. It now contains an enlarged central air intake, below which is a metal lip that resembles a splitter. Like the Peugeot 3008, at the stern of the French novelty there are rather large lamps with vertical LED strips, connected by a decorative insert. And the rear bumper has a powerful configuration: it protrudes far against the background of the body.

The interior of the Peugeot 2008 is decorated in a simpler style when compared with the "older" crossovers. But this model also has a steering wheel with a sloped top and bottom, a digital instrument panel built into a polygonal niche, and a non-standard climate control unit. The touchscreen monitor, mounted on top of the center console, is angled towards the driver's seat. And the front seats provide a high level of comfort due to pronounced lateral and lumbar support.

Sales start

The updated Peugeot 2008 entered the Russian market at the end of 2020. And the top version appeared six months later.
