The 2020 Hyundai Nexo is probably the most original crossover the modern market has to offer. The main feature of the model is hidden under its body: the car is equipped with an electric motor that runs on hydrogen fuel. However, this is not the only limitation of the capabilities of the Korean model. Together with it, buyers are offered steering systems and monitoring of "blind" zones. The latter, due to a wide-angle camera, monitors the situation around the car. Due to the features described, Hyundai NEXO has no direct competitors. Although the usual representatives of the SUV segment in a certain way do not allow the crossover to gain sufficient popularity among motorists.
Options and prices
The 2020 Hyundai Nexo, which received a new body, looks pretty much like other models of the Korean brand. Although, judging by the photo, the car looks more like hatchbacks and sedans than crossovers. NEXO is offered in one or two trim levels (depending on the market) at a price of 5, 65 million rubles. This cost is largely due to the technical characteristics of the Korean model. But the list of available equipment had no less influence.

The set with the Korean novelty comes by default:
- 19-inch wheels;
- multifunctional steering wheel with artificial leather trim and electric heating;
- roof rails;
- electrically adjustable heated and ventilated driver's and front passenger seats;
- heated rear seats;
- side mirrors with servo drive and electric heating;
- LED lighting equipment placed in a circle (including front foglights);
- a sensor that automatically turns on the fog lights;
- two-zone climate control unit;
- light sensor;
- electrically adjustable sunroof.

The seats in the 2020 Hyundai Nexo are finished with combined materials. A high level of safety in the Korean model is provided by:
- adaptive cruise control, which maintains the selected speed and is combined with the Stop & Go system;
- front and rear parking sensors;
- a parking camera that displays dynamic markings on a multimedia screen;
- electronic parking brake;
- intelligent parking assistant;
- tire pressure monitoring sensors;
- built-in speed limiter;
- 6 airbags;
- steering system, which prevents uncontrolled departure from the lane at speeds up to 150 km / h;
- control system for "blind" points in a circle;
- wide-angle all-round cameras;
- anti-lock braking system;
- uphill assistant.

The Korean crossover is also equipped with an emergency braking system capable of stopping the car in the event of a collision. The car is available with an electric tailgate with a contactless opening function, keyless access to the salon, an engine start button and a 7-inch TFT display located in place of the dashboard. A multimedia complex, which includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen monitor, an audio system and 8 KRELL speakers, is responsible for the comfort of travel inside the Hyundai NEXO. In addition, the crossover is also equipped with a platform for wireless charging of mobile equipment.

Specifications
Despite such a "rich" package, the main feature of the 2020 Hyundai NEXO is hidden under its body. It is a high-torque electric motor that develops about 163 hp. net power and 395 N * m of torque makes the Korean crossover attractive. The fact is that it operates at the expense of recyclable hydrogen fuel, which is pumped into tanks that can hold up to 6, 35 kilograms of fuel. Thanks to this, the car is able to drive up to 800 kilometers without refueling (according to other sources, up to 600 kilometers).

An electric motor is combined with a block of fuel cells, which generate up to 95 kW of electricity. Also, a 40 kW rechargeable battery is installed on the crossover. With such a technical part, Hyundai NEXO is able to accelerate to the first 100 km / h in 9.5 seconds.

The Korean model is based on a front-wheel drive platform with a monocoque body. At the same time, the crossover is medium in size: its length reaches 4670 mm with a wheelbase of 2790 mm, width - 1860 mm, height - 1630 mm. This "cart" was developed specifically for NEXO and is not used on any Hyundai car. The crossover structure consists almost entirely of high-strength steels, providing high passive safety. The SUV is based on a completely independent suspension: MacPherson struts are placed in front, and a multi-link structure in the back.

Design
As already noted, the 2020 Hyundai NEXO is stylistically close to the Korean brand's sedans (in particular, the Sonata and Grandeur). The crossover is equipped with a wide trapezoidal grille, under which is a compact air intake. The functions of the narrow LED headlights are complemented by a separate LED lighting unit integrated above the side vents in the front bumper.

Sideways, the Hyundai NEXO is not much different from modern mid-size crossovers. The same can be said about the stern, where there is a wide wing and triangular lights with LED strips inside. More interesting is the rear bumper with original stampings extending upward along the support struts.

As in the case of the technical equipment, the main stylistic decisions fell on the interior of the crossover. The NEXO showroom incorporates Hyundai's latest premium design expertise. The interior is characterized by an ergonomic layout and expensive finishing materials, including a massive metal plate that covers the large transmission tunnel. The latter rises slightly near the center console, the top of which is crowned with a touchscreen monitor.

The high comfort of the cabin is ensured not only by high-quality materials and modern electronics, but also by the large dimensions of the car. Thanks to them, the inside of the NEXO offers comfortable seating in both the front and rear seats.

Start of sales
The new Hyundai NEXO went on sale for a long time. However, the model is supplied to the market in limited quantities. Moreover, the crossover is available only in a few countries, including South Korea and the United States. NEXO is not supplied to Russia. No Korean model is expected in the coming years.
Competitors

Due to the fact that the Hyundai NEXO is equipped with fuel cells, the Korean crossover has no real competitors today.
