Basically, the only true competitor to the Toyota Prius is the 2020 Hyundai Ionic. But this, apparently, did not seem enough to the Korean concern, since it also released a hatchback with an electrical installation. Moreover, the 2020 version has become "long-range" and more economical. As standard, the Korean model comes with a 10, 25-inch touchscreen monitor, numerous systems and airbags, as well as an extended list of equipment responsible for comfort. In the top-end equipment, the car becomes as convenient as possible due to additional driver's assistants, cameras and leather seats.
Options and prices
The 2020 Hyundai Ionic stands out not only for the fact that its new body, as shown by official photos, changes markedly depending on the type of installation, but also for non-standard equipment. Moreover, the configuration and prices are also determined taking into account the type of the selected modification. Comparative tests have shown that in terms of technical characteristics, the Korean model looks better with a plug-in hybrid. But the electrical installation also provides good performance.

Hybrid elite
The starting version of the 2020 Hyundai Ionic with a hybrid installation is estimated at about 1.28 million rubles. It should be noted that we are talking about foreign markets. This model is not represented in Russia. The initial configuration includes:
- touch monitor 10, 25 inches;
- 7 airbags;
- proprietary multimedia complex with support for Android and iOS devices;
- premium audio system with eight speakers;
- satellite navigation system;
- 15-inch aluminum rims;
- parking sensors and camera;
- braking energy recovery system.

By default, all-LED optics and dashboard illumination, which houses a multifunctional color display, are offered with the starting modification. Entry-level Hyundai Ioniq owner safety is ensured by equipment that:
- controls blind spots;
- warns the driver of a possible collision;
- monitors the movement of the motorist's eyes;
- keeps the car in the current lane;
- controls the switching of the high beam;
- warns of a possible collision when reversing.

Also, by default, the Korean hatchback is equipped with a leather-trimmed steering wheel and a dual-zone climate control.

Hybrid Premium
This modification of the Korean hybrid hatchback costs about 1.47 million rubles. It introduces intelligent cruise, supplemented by the Stop & Go function, and front parking sensors. Unlike the basic version, the Premium package offers customers 17-inch rims, an improved road lane control system, heated and ventilated front seats, an electric driver's seat that can memorize settings.

The list of on-board equipment is also replenished with an electronic parking brake that automatically turns on after a stop, rain sensors, wireless charging for smartphones and climate control that defrosts the glass on its own. It also features a sunroof, leather-trimmed seats and sport pedals.

Plug-in Elite
Prices for the 2020 Hyundai Ioniq plug-in hybrid start at 1.54 million rubles. In addition to the new installation, 16-inch rims appear in this configuration. The rest of the equipment is borrowed from the basic version of the hatchback.

Plug-in Premium
For 1.7 million rubles, a Premium version with a plug-in hybrid is available. This configuration has the same equipment as a similar modification with a launch unit. The only difference is that this version of the Korean hatchback is equipped with a heated steering wheel.

Electric
Prices for a fully electrified 2020 Hyundai Ioniq start at 1.78 million rubles. The list of on-board equipment for a hatchback with such an installation does not change significantly in comparison with previous modifications. Only in the top-end Premium version do additional decorative elements appear that adorn the interior.

Specifications
The standard hybrid installation, including the plug-in version, has not changed since the restyling. As before, it is based on a 1.6-liter "naturally aspirated" engine that develops up to 104 hp. net power and 148 N * m of torque. It is accompanied by a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an electric motor, the maximum output of which does not exceed 43 hp, and the thrust level reaches 169 N * m. Hyundai Ioniq in this version accelerates to the first 100 km / h in 8.8 seconds. Also included with the hybrid setup is a 1.56 kilowatt battery.

The electric version of the Korean hatchback received an uprated electric motor. Its maximum power was increased to 134 hp, and the thrust was increased to 295 N * m. This unit is combined with a more capacious battery, thanks to which the car can now travel up to 373 kilometers (the previous version - up to 293 kilometers).

Design
Despite the external similarity with other models of the Hyundai brand, the Ioniq is quite noticeably different from them. First of all, attention is drawn to the absence of a radiator grill, instead of which the manufacturer has placed a plug, painted in the body color. The branded head optics are divided into three sections, each of which houses LED lights. The front bumper, modified as part of the latest restyling, contains large blocks on the sides with air vents and LED fog lights.

On the side, the Ioniq is not much different from other Hyundai hatchbacks. But from the back, the Korean model is more reminiscent of its main competitors. The Ioniq's upright stern is complemented by a large spoiler combined with LED lights. The rear bumper design varies depending on the type of power plant. In hybrid versions, it has a plastic insert that frames the license plate. But in all modifications, there are compact deflectors on the rear bumper.

Salon at Ioniq is executed in a minimalist style. A touchscreen monitor located on top of the center console allows customization of virtually all on-board electronics. A climate system unit is installed separately from it. Otherwise, the interior of the Ioniq is decorated in the same style as that of other Hyundai hatchbacks. The only exception is the steering wheel, which in the first model has a sporty look.

Start of sales
The updated version of the Hyundai Ioniq, like its predecessor, is supplied only to overseas markets. This model is not represented in Russia.
