Hyundai brought to Los Angeles at once 2 new modifications of the Ioniq hatchback, intended for the American market. The car, depending on the version, is equipped with a standard and plug-in hybrid. The latter in the Hyundai Ioniq is the best in its class in terms of average fuel consumption. A Korean hatchback with this equipment averages 3 liters of gasoline for every 100 kilometers.
With the release of the new version of the Ioniq for the American market, this hybrid installation has not undergone significant changes. It is paired with an 8.9 kilowatt battery that provides a range of 47 kilometers. Of greater interest is the all-electric version of the Ioniq Electric. The Korean hatchback will receive a power unit and a battery of increased power and capacity, respectively. Previously, the car was equipped with a 28-kilowatt battery. Its new version provides for a 33.3 kW battery. Thanks to this, the electrified Ioniq can travel up to 274 kilometers without recharging, while, like in the previous hatchback modification, this figure was 200 kilometers.
The maximum output that the installed electric motor is capable of developing has increased from 118 to 134 hp. Despite these changes, the new Ioniq Electric has maintained a relatively low price tag. According to this parameter, the Korean hatchback has remained one of the most affordable electric cars in its class.
Hyundai has slightly redesigned the exterior of the Ioniq specifically for the American market. At the front, the hatchback has a new grille and upgraded LED DRLs. At the stern of the Korean model, there are LED lights and a different bumper configuration. At the same time, the manufacturer expanded the range of wheel disks.
The inside of the Ioniq features a redesigned 10.25-inch touchscreen center stack. The dashboard houses a 7-inch digital display. The list of equipment was replenished with blind spot monitoring systems with collision avoidance and road markings monitoring. After such updates, Hyundai Ioniq Electric began to cost about 1.5 million rubles. And for the top-end modification, you will have to pay only 16 thousand rubles. The hybrid version of the hatchback will cost 1.74 million rubles.
