The Volvo XC90 is the largest car in the Swedish automaker's crossover family. It is distinguished by the highest level of safety demonstrated in relation to its passengers, as well as by original technical characteristics. The second generation of a large SUV from Volvo was released in 2014 and in the middle of the model's life cycle - in early 2019, the automaker decided to restyle it. In the Russian market, the 2022 Volvo XC90 is available in three trim levels, the price of which ranges from 5, 08 to 7, 37 million rubles. Of course, given the rather large dimensions of the model, the Swedish cross can be available in both five and seven-seater versions. Under the hood of the car, the manufacturer installs gasoline and diesel engines, as well as a rechargeable "hybrid". The main rivals of the SUV are the German BMW X5 and Audi Q7.

Specifications

The restyling carried out did not radically transform the Swedish model so that we could talk about its appearance on the market in a new body. As for the 2022 Volvo XC90 model year, the manufacturer revised some configurations for it, which led to an increase in the starting price of the crossover. The technical characteristics of the Volvo XC90 have not changed since the restyling, as well as the interior of the SUV, as evidenced by the comparative photos published on the network.

The automaker used the SPA architecture as a basis for creating a restyled version of the crossover. It provided the appearance of a front suspension based on aluminum wishbones. As for the rear suspension, it is a classic multi-link system, supplemented by a center spring. Both suspensions of the SUV are based on steel subframes, which adds to their reliability. In addition, based on the need and the prevailing road conditions, the car can change the level of clearance due to the pneumatic suspension adjustment.

At the moment, on the territory of Russia, the Volvo XC90 is offered with a gasoline and diesel engine, as well as a hybrid power plant. In the basic version, the crossover relies on a 2-liter turbo engine that produces 249 horsepower. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. In this version, the cross will reach a speed of 100 km / h in just 7.9 seconds, and the fuel consumption level, in this case, is 8.1 liters. An alternative option in relation to a gas engine is a diesel installation. It has the same volume of 2 liters, but its power output is higher - 235 "horses". Similar power performance of the engine allows it to accelerate the car from zero to the first "hundred" in 7, 8 seconds. Traditionally, diesel installations show good efficiency - in this case, diesel fuel consumption for every 100 km of the distance traveled will be 5.7 liters.

The most expensive versions of the 2022 Volvo XC90 rely on a hybrid engine. The basis for such an installation is a 2-liter turbo engine, the return of which is equal to 320 "horses". Additionally, a 65 kW electric motor is installed on the rear axle of the crossover. Thanks to its presence, the car is able to cover up to 40 kilometers of distance solely on the basis of electric traction. This design allows the model to accelerate to 100 km / h in just 5.6 seconds, and the level of fuel consumption, in this case, is declared at 2.5 liters. In any of the offered versions, the car is equipped with permanent all-wheel drive.

Regarding the dimensions and main indicators of the crossover, the following can be distinguished:
