In 2021, several dozen completely new or modernized cars will enter the Russian market. However, most of the planned models cannot be attributed to the budget segment. But among them there are several new crossovers of 2021 cheaper than 1.5 million rubles, which will arrive on the Russian market. Moreover, some of these models are distinguished by good off-road capabilities. We've ranked the best new crossovers of 2021 to drive off-pavement.
Geely atlas pro
The new Geely Atlas Pro hit the last line of this rating for the reason that the car is highly likely to cost over 1.5 million rubles. But using special programs to support the automotive industry, the buyer will be able to purchase a Chinese model for the specified amount.
The new Atlas Pro is equipped with 1, 5- and 1, 8-liter turbocharged engines, which produce good traction: 225 and 300 N * m, respectively. The crossover is equipped with on-board electronics proven in Russia, which allows the model to be operated, including off-road.
JAC S7
JAC S7 is a completely new crossover for the Russian market. The Chinese model on the home market is offered at a price of one million rubles. The novelty is notable for the fact that, having dimensions comparable to the Nissan X-Trail, it can accommodate up to seven seats. Complete with a crossover in Russia, they will offer only one turbocharged engine with a volume of 1.5 liters, the declared power of which does not exceed 150 hp. Together with this unit, a 6-speed two-disk "robot" is available.
JAC S7 lacks all-wheel drive. But its suspension is adapted to Russian conditions, and the clearance reaches 204 mm. In addition, the crossover is equipped with several assistants that make it easier to drive the car outside the pavement. In this regard, the new JAC S7 can be recommended to those buyers who need a family car, designed for operation on light off-road.
FAW Bestune T77
The flagship model of the FAW company, estimated in the home market at a minimum of 1.07 million rubles. That is, upon arrival in Russia, the cost of a crossover can rise to 1.5 million rubles. The Chinese novelty, acting as a flagship, is ready to offer premium equipment and several unique options. In particular, the car is equipped with a corporate assistant, which is displayed in the form of a hologram on top of the "torpedo".
In the home market, the FAW Bestune T77 is available with two turbocharged engines. The base is a 1, 2-liter turbo unit producing up to 143 hp. power. Optionally, with the Chinese novelty, a 1.5-liter supercharged engine is offered, whose declared output reaches 169 hp. Each of these motors is combined with a choice of a 5-speed manual or 7-band robotic gearbox.
FAW Bestune T77 is interesting in that, with dimensions comparable to the Haval F7 (for example, they have the same wheelbase), the novelty is equipped by default with a plug-in all-wheel drive. And in this case we are talking about the transmission, which really helps off-road, and does not improve stability on slippery asphalt.
Haval H6
The Haval H6, which, according to official statements, should arrive on the Russian market during 2021, is technically practically no different from its predecessor. All the changes that have affected the Chinese crossover fell on the body and interior.
Externally, the Haval H6 has become more sporty due to an enlarged radiator grille, which has acquired a volumetric pattern, narrowed head optics and an aggressive front bumper with large cutouts for air intakes. The salon of the Chinese model was made in a premium style, providing an abundance of expensive finishes. At the same time, the crossover received a new touchscreen monitor, digital panel and additional driver assistants and safety systems. After the modernization, the car lost the gearshift lever, which was replaced with a washer designed to change the transmission operating modes.
The technical characteristics of the Haval H6 remained the same. The standard crossover is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo engine with a maximum output of 169 hp. For a surcharge, Haval H6 customers are offered a 2-liter supercharged engine that produces up to 224 hp. Both units come with a 7-speed dual-clutch robotized gearbox. An optional all-wheel drive is also available.
In the home market, Haval H6 is estimated at a little over a million rubles. In Russia, its cost can reach 1.5 million rubles. There is a possibility that in 2021 a coupe-like version of the Haval H6 will also arrive in our country, which differs from a crossover in a standard body only in its exterior design.
Lada Niva Travel
Niva Travel, despite the radical changes in the front end of the body, because of which the car was compared to the Toyota Rav4, is, in fact, the same Chevrolet Niva. The Russian model in this version differs from its predecessor only in a modified exterior. Niva Travel retained the previous 1.7-liter 80-horsepower "atmospheric", which is combined with permanent all-wheel drive and a 5-speed manual transmission.
Renault Duster
In 2021, the Russian market will be joined by a new generation Renault Duster, which is perhaps one of the most anticipated crossovers. As part of the latest modernization, the manufacturer has significantly redesigned the body and interior of the French model. At the same time, changes were made to the technical part. However, the new generation Duster retained the capabilities that allowed it to be compared with full-fledged SUVs. In particular, the ground clearance of the novelty remained at 210 mm. The angles of departure and entry are 31 and 33 degrees, respectively, which is comparable to the characteristics of its predecessor.
The Duster is expected to be fitted with a new 1.33-liter turbo engine, which is currently used on the Arkana and Kaptur, under the hood.
