The Audi A6 is a car that is a member of the business class family, produced by the German manufacturer since 1994. Prior to the receipt of the "name" A6, this model was called the Audi A100. Today the Audi A6 is available in two versions - a sedan and a station wagon. At the moment, you can buy a fifth generation model on the Russian market, which was first presented at the Geneva Motor Show. Both the sedan and the station wagon are available in four trim levels, and prices for the 2021 Audi A6 range from 3.305 to 4.77 million rubles. The main rivals of the model include the same representatives of the German car industry - BMW 5-Series, as well as Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

Options and prices

The change of generations made the German model more modern, adding emotion and aggression to it, but still did not lead to the appearance of a completely new body. The manufacturer has partially revised the configuration of the business car, as well as its technical characteristics. Prices for the Audi A6 in 2021, we can say that they have not changed too critically. The basic variation of the car, the price of which starts at 3.305 million for the sedan model and 3.5 million for the station wagon, received the following features:

Depending on the body type in which the 2021 Audi A6 is presented, the available engine range for the car also differs. For the sedan, the developers offer 5 different powertrain options:

• diesel 2-liter 4-cylinder engine equipped with a direct fuel injection system. Due to the presence of a turbine, this power unit is capable of developing a power of 190 "horses" and a torque of 400 N * m. The engine is paired with a 7-speed "robot" and front-wheel drive system. According to the manufacturer, in this configuration, acceleration to "hundreds" is achieved in 8, 4 seconds, and the top speed is 237 km / h. The average consumption of diesel fuel per 100 km of track is 5.2 liters;
• hybrid 2-liter gasoline engine with a turbine, 190 horsepower. It is equipped with a 7-speed robotic gearbox and a front-wheel drive system. The declared fuel consumption for this unit is 5.8 liters, and acceleration to 100 km / h is achieved in 7.9 seconds. The maximum speed of the car is 237 km / h;
• a gasoline engine of a similar volume, delivering up to 245 horsepower. This engine relies on a "robot" for 7 gears and an all-wheel drive system. This option accelerates the car to "hundreds" in 6 seconds, and the maximum speed is 250 km / h. In this case, the declared average fuel consumption is 6, 8 liters;
• for a 3-liter 6-cylinder diesel unit, which is capable of delivering power up to 249 horsepower, the manufacturer offers the installation of an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. In this version, the sedan will accelerate to 100 km / h in 6.1 seconds, and the top speed is 250 km / h. Fuel consumption for this model is 6.4 liters of diesel fuel;
• the most powerful is the 3-liter turbocharged petrol engine with a capacity of 340 horsepower. It works in tandem with a 7-speed "robot" and an all-wheel drive system. For this engine, acceleration to 100 km / h in 5.1 seconds, a top speed of 250 km / h and an average consumption of 6, 8 liters are declared.

For cars in a station wagon, the following power units are relied on:

• a diesel 2-liter engine with a turbine, the power output of which is 190 "horses", and the torque is 400 N * m. Together with this unit, the manufacturer used a 7-speed "robot" and a front-wheel drive system. According to the developers, the acceleration of a car to "hundreds" is achieved in 8.1 seconds, and the maximum speed is 232 km / h. The average consumption of diesel fuel is 5.3 liters per 100 kilometers;
• 2-liter gasoline turbo engine with a performance of 190 horsepower and a maximum torque of 320 N * m. It also relies on the use of a "robot" for 7 gears and a front-wheel drive system. The declared consumption of gasoline for this version is 6 liters. Acceleration to "hundreds" and maximum speed are fully consistent with the data of the diesel engine;
• 3-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 249 horsepower. It works in tandem with an 8-speed automatic transmission, as well as an all-wheel drive system. The claimed acceleration time to 100 km / h is 6.3 seconds, and the maximum speed is 250 km / h. Average gasoline consumption does not exceed 6.5 liters.

The chassis of the new Audi A6 is represented by two independent suspensions with multi-link structures, as well as a front and rear stabilizer. Optionally, the German model can be equipped with a sports and air suspension. All wheels of the car received ventilated disc brakes. In addition, the Audi A6 is equipped with an electronic parking brake. The steering is equipped with electric power assistance for more precise and quick reactions to the movements of the steering wheel.

After a generational change, the German 2021 Audi A6 received significantly more precise, improved steering. The manufacturer managed to achieve this by equipping the new model with a different chassis, which makes the car more maneuverable. On straight lines, the "German" confidently keeps in the lane, and enters the turns without any rolls and attempts to break off the given trajectory.

The off-road capabilities of the car in any body type cannot be called brilliant. Of course, good ground clearance and the presence of many traffic assistants allow the car to overcome problem areas of an asphalt or dirt road, but it is clearly not necessary to rely on travel through a swampy gap, sandy or rocky area.

Maintenance costs

Cars produced by the German concern Audi have always outstripped most competitors in terms of maintenance costs. The same picture emerges in the case of the determination of costs for the A6. The owner of the sedan is obliged to pay an annual transport tax, the amount of which will be 10-20 thousand rubles, depending on the selected configuration.

The costs of carrying out regular maintenance, depending on the volume and complexity of the work performed, will be 15-45 thousand rubles. The largest expense item is the registration of a CASCO insurance policy. Its price can reach 230-330 thousand rubles. It is also necessary to plan that the annual amount of costs associated with refueling the "German" with fuel will be about 50 thousand rubles.

Dynamic performance and fuel consumption

Depending on the type of power unit, as well as the type of body in which the car is produced, acceleration to a speed of 100 km / h is achieved in 5, 1-8, 4 seconds. In any case, this dynamics will be quite enough to successfully move and maneuver both in urban environments and beyond. All available engines of the German model can be called very economical, since the maximum level of fuel consumption is 6, 8 liters, and the minimum is 5, 2 liters.

Design

After the change of generations, the German model has decently changed both outside and inside. In the exterior of the car, there are now significantly more pronounced emotions that the body has acquired due to the appearance of stampings and relief. At the front, the new-generation model stands out with sharper, slightly "squinted" headlights and a pronounced hexagonal radiator grille. The side part of the body received a slight relief in the lower part of the doors, large cutouts of the wheel arches and alloy wheels of the original design. The rear of the car is expressed by the bumper lip, which houses an air intake diffuser and two rectangular exhaust pipes. The taillights are integrated into a single piece by means of a narrow chrome insert.

The interior trim is made with expensive materials, the quality of which is noticeable even to the naked eye. In terms of manufacturability, this model is unlikely to be equal among competitors. The salon has three digital displays with different functionality. The first displays all the data of the digital instrument panel. The other two are used to activate the built-in services of the multimedia system, to make the necessary settings for the air conditioning unit, as well as to make other adjustments.

The central tunnel stands out due to its large size, as well as the installation of a miniature selector-switch for transmission modes. All seats in the cabin have many variations of adjustments and built-in services. Their lateral support is very reliable and allows passengers to travel long distances in comfort.

Sales start

The 5th generation Audi A6 entered the Russian car market in the sedan body at the beginning of 2020, and in the station wagon variation in the summer. Deliveries to the territory of Russia are carried out directly from the German car assembly plant.
