Representatives of the Chinese car industry are increasingly frequent in the European car market. A number of manufacturers from the Middle Kingdom are actively developing and covering all new territories. At the same time, the stereotype about the low quality and reliability of cars from China persists in some countries. To get rid of it, companies send their models to all kinds of tests. One of these is the EuroNCAP crash test.
The day before, two new Chinese models took part in safety tests at once. We are talking about the Lynk & Co 01 SUV with a hybrid power plant, as well as the Nio ES8 electric car. As a result, reports show that both vehicles received high safety ratings and complimentary reviews from experts.
If we consider the results of Lynk & Co 01, then the model for reliability in frontal collisions received an assessment of 15 out of 16 possible points, and in side collisions - the maximum. Adult passengers are 96% protected in the cabin, and children - 87%. The weakest point was the safety of pedestrians - 71%. According to these results, the Chinese model has surpassed the Audi Q3.
The Nio ES8 was not as safe, although it also received 5 stars in the crash test. For a frontal collision, the car earned 13.3 points, and the side impact protection was estimated at 12.5 points. The indicators of protection of adults and children for this model are 82 and 84%, respectively. The most clearly triggered here are the safety assistants, with a rating of 92%.
In general, the level of protection that representatives of Chinese brands have been able to demonstrate is typical for the Audi Q4 e-tron, Subaru Outback, and Toyota Mirai. Thanks to this result, the whole world was able to make sure that automakers from the Middle Kingdom reached a new level in terms of quality.
