Cars belonging to the segment of crossovers and SUVs continue to be the most popular in our country. So, according to official statistics, in the first half of 2021, Russian motorists purchased about 400 thousand new SUV representatives, which corresponds to 49.2% of the total market share of passenger models.
Analysts also talked about which individual models are in the greatest demand among Russian drivers. So, the first place in the rating went to the Korean Hyundai Creta SUV. This traditional bestseller of the market was purchased 38.8 thousand times during 6 months of this year. In addition, the Creta SUV has a 43.3% share in the total sales of Hyundai brand vehicles.
The second position belongs to the Lada Niva model range, which includes Legend and Travel SUVs. In total, these cars were bought 30, 1 thousand times. In the total share of sales of models with the name Lada, these cars occupied only 15%. The third place is taken by Renault Duster with an indicator of 19, 7 thousand of sold crossovers.
In general, of the crossovers in the top ten, only Nissan Qashqai failed to overcome the mark of 10 thousand cars sold, limiting itself to 9.7 thousand. It is also the only SUV that has negative dynamics compared to the same period last year. As for the best growth in sales, in this case, the Czech compact cross Skoda Karoq turned out to be the undoubted leader. The indicator of its implementation has increased 2, 3 times. The average percentage of sales growth in the market over the past six months amounted to 37.5%.
