The compact South Korean cross KIA Seltos at one time was one of the most promising and expected on the Russian market. However, the arrival of the SUV did not justify the advances given to him, since in addition to the memorable design, the car did not receive any technological solutions that would allow it to stand out among the competitors. Moreover, Seltos was equipped with a new CVT transmission IVT, which replaced the usual automatic transmission. Many potential car buyers were scared off by this decision. So they turned their attention to alternatives. Experts of the domestic market talked about which models Russian motorists prefer to purchase instead of the KIA Seltos crossover.
In the published list of alternatives, there are three French SUVs at once, which are co-platform. We are talking about the Kaptur, Arkana and Duster models from the Renault manufacturer. These crossovers have good technical characteristics. And Renault Duster is complemented by impressive off-road capabilities. The power capabilities of these cars are determined by atmospheric engines with a volume of 1, 6 and 2 liters, a turbo engine of 1, 3 liters, as well as a diesel unit. The transmission is powered by the tried and tested Jatco CVT.
In addition, many buyers prefer to choose models from VAG. In particular, Skoda Karoq is a serious alternative to Seltos. This SUV is equipped with a 1.4-liter turbo engine, complemented by a classic "automatic". Also, a new Volkswagen Taos compact cross will appear on the market in the near future.
The new generation Hyundai Creta will also be an excellent replacement for the Seltos, since the car has received a "refreshed" appearance, while retaining all the usual power capabilities. But the best alternative to the "Korean" motorists consider Nissan Qashqai and Mitsubishi ASX. Both models are distinguished by the highest reliability and time-tested technical characteristics.
