At the very beginning of this autumn, during the insertion of COMTRANS-2021, the domestic KamAZ presented its newest tractor, called the Continent. Today the car exists only as a model, which is presented at various auto shows. However, next year, the manufacturer plans to present a prototype that will be as close as possible in its parameters to the serial version of the tractor.
As the experts managed to find out, despite the fact that the developer said that the model will belong to the newest K6 family, in fact it will be a follower of the already debuted cars from the K5 series. If we compare the current generation, which appeared in 2019, and the future novelty, then for a promising tractor, the developer will offer a lighter chassis option. Also, KamAZ will improve the aerodynamic properties of the car, equip it with a hybrid engine and a modern autopilot system. That is, in terms of the totality of qualities, the Russian model surpasses even the Mercedes-Benz Actros.
What price can expect a promising new product, as well as when the car will enter the market, is not yet clear. By the way, the developer plans to introduce autonomous control in the near future, but will install it on those models that do not intersect with cars driven by drivers. In particular, we are talking about mining dump trucks.
The strategy of the Russian auto giant itself implies that in the next few years it will abandon the production of cars from the K4 family, and the K5 generation will be actively developed and modified. In addition, the manufacturer has plans for the gradual appearance in the lineup and variations related to the K6.
