Volta Trucks, 2 months after the publication of the first information about the Zero model, began testing new items in real conditions. The car entered British roads near the Nuneaton design bureau, where it was being developed.
Volta Zero Concept
The Volta Zero will be the first electric 16-ton commercial vehicle in the world. This model was developed specifically for intracity logistics. Volta Trucks is reportedly currently testing a pre-production Zero, which will test the chassis frame and electronic drivetrain from Meritor. In particular, research will be carried out on the battery supplied by Proterra, the compact rear axle and the electric motor.

The novelty features an unconventional cab, which is designed in such a way as to protect the driver from adverse conditions. The prototype of the serial Zero is equipped with a platform that allows you to place various levels and compartments, due to which the developers intend to check the vehicle's carrying capacity. Volta Trucks intends to continue testing for several months, including in very cold conditions. To do this, the car will be sent to the roads in the Arctic Circle.

Volta Trucks plans to begin production of the new model at the end of next year. At the same time, the developers have already received a sufficient number of orders for Zero. Volta Trucks notes that it is currently showing increased activity to accelerate the introduction of this model to the European market. At the same time, the manufacturer does not disclose any details about the technical characteristics of the novelty.
