The Mercedes-Benz company relatively recently launched sales of the new GLB compact crossover on the Russian market. In the near future, the German concern should present its "charged" version from AMG. However, Mercedes-Benz fans can already purchase the GLB with a more powerful engine and original tuning, which brings the affordable crossover closer to the most expensive G-Class SUV (source: autoblog.com).
Standard version Mercedes-Benz GLB
The factory studio Brabus has finalized the construction and design of the German model. As a result, after the changes made, the new GLB is a unique mixture of a sports car and an SUV. The upgraded crossover received, in particular, a modified head optics, which became square. At the front, it has a split spoiler, which, remarkably, is only available with a proprietary body kit from AMG. Along with the new GLB, several 18-20-inch rims with the Brabus logo are offered. At the stern, there is another spoiler with an elongated "duck tail". Above the windshield, engineers placed 2 wide enough strips of LED lights. A similar design was previously used on the "charged" G-Class.
There were fewer changes in the cabin. In fact, all the improvements are reduced to the installation of new decorative details (pedals, sills, and so on) and the appearance of Brabus brand badges. Also, the interior space has been replenished with additional LED lighting.
The main changes took place in the technical part. Engineers have modified the standard GLB engine, increasing its power to 267 hp. and torque up to 430 N * m. Together with the updated crossover, 2 sets of springs are offered. A lowering kit is used as standard, which reduces the ground clearance by 25 mm. For the all-wheel drive GLB modification, springs are proposed that increase the ground clearance by 36 mm. Accordingly, in the first case, the car becomes more dynamic and stable, and in the second, its off-road characteristics are improved.
Until the Brabus-tuned Mercedes-Benz GLB hit the market. Prices for the updated crossover will be announced in the coming days. Brabus has not announced whether it will supply this model to the Russian market. But earlier the tuning studio had already brought its products to our country.
