From the beginning of 2021, another innovation awaits Russian motorists, namely the emergence of a new administrative fine. In this case, we are talking about a sanction of 1,500 rubles for moving without prepayment on toll highways in the territory of the Russian Federation. This will apply to roads with Free Flow. A similar bill was recently adopted by the deputies of the State Duma and has already passed the third reading. Administrative sanctions will affect only those motorists who have not made timely payment.
It is noteworthy that from January 1, 2021, such administrative offenses will be recorded using traffic cameras. The innovations will be affected, both by motorists who drive light vehicles, as well as by owners of buses and trucks. At the same time, for the first, the amount of sanctions will be only 1.5 thousand rubles. Truck and bus drivers will be punished more significantly, namely with a fine of 5 thousand rubles. It is also worth noting that some additional points are spelled out in the new bill.
In particular, the regulatory document contains information on the number of fines issued for free travel on toll sections of Russian roads throughout the day. According to the text of the new bill, if a motorist receives penalties for an offense recorded by a road surveillance camera, then subsequent punishments will not be provided during these days. If the violation is committed the next day, then the next fine will be issued to the driver.
Such innovations will be applied only to toll roads in the territory of the Russian Federation, which is subject to the Free Flow system. It is worth recalling that on such highways there are no points for making fare payments, and there are no barriers installed. On these roads, in certain places, special sensors and surveillance cameras will be installed, which will monitor all vehicles passing by. Also, these control systems will be able to track the vehicle class and state registration number.
