Relatively recently, the first photos of the flagship CHERYEXEED LX crossover, which the manufacturer sent for road tests in Moscow, appeared in the media. The appearance of the car on domestic roads indicates that it will soon go on sale in the Russian market. But until this happened, Chery expanded the Exeed LX engine range (it is under this name that the cross is sold at home) through a new hybrid installation. It is reported to consume on average about a liter of gasoline (photo: autohome.com.cn).
As follows from the published description, the Exeed LX hybrid plant is based on a 1.5-liter turbo engine, which is combined with one electric motor. The aggregate output of such a unit is only 147 hp. That is, in fact, the introduction of a new hybrid setup made the Exeed LX less powerful, but more economical. Recall that in China this model is offered with two engines. The starting point for the Exeed LX is the aforementioned 1.5-liter turbo engine with a declared maximum power of 156 hp. In the top-end versions, under the hood of the premium crossover, another 1.6-liter supercharged unit appears, which develops up to 197 hp.
Chery has not yet announced whether the Exeed LX hybrid will differ in anything other than the power plant from its other versions. The published photos only indicate that the crossover has an additional hatch in the front fender, and the inscription PHEV has been placed on the tailgate. The rest of the outwardly hybrid crossover completely repeats the outlines of its other modifications. The timing of the release of Exeed LX with a new power unit on the home market has not yet been announced. Whether such a crossover will arrive in Russia is also not known.
