Audi has unveiled the new Grandsphere concept, which should be the prototype for the next generation A8 sedan. The German model is distinguished by an elongated body with a large tail section and the presence of a fourth-level autonomous control system. By default, the presented concept is equipped with electric motors.

When developing this new product, Audi engineers paid almost all attention to the comfort in the cabin. According to representatives of the German company, the front seats of the Gransphere are located where the multimillionaires would like to see them. At the back of the novelty there are 2 separate seats. Between the first and second rows there is a refrigerator with glasses and a bottle for drinks.

In autonomous driving mode, the steering wheel and pedals are hidden in special niches, thereby increasing the amount of free space. When developing new items, they also paid increased attention to the introduction of digital technologies. In particular, the driver and passengers inside the Grandsphere will be able to enjoy video streaming capabilities while driving. Embedded systems support technology that returns the video to the same place where the motorist stopped. So, for example, if he has not finished viewing, then the on-board electronics will start the video from the same moment at which he turned it off.

Grandsphere systems are capable of identifying both motorists and passengers. Moreover, they adjust to regular routes, opening doors exactly where people get out or sit down, automatically adjusting the position of the seats and climate control to the previously set parameters. The front seats are capable of tilting at an angle of 60 degrees.

The German novelty is devoid of the dashboard and touchscreen. Instead, all information is projected onto wooden surfaces that sit under the windshield. And here you can display, for example, videos from the Internet or a picture from a video conference. The built-in multimedia is controlled using a special regulator placed on the driver's door. You can also customize it through gestures. This option is automatically activated as soon as the driver reclines the back of the seat back.

The dimensions of the German novelty are 5, 35x2x1, 39 meters. The presented model does not have B-pillars. It comes with 23-inch wheels and thin head optics, capable of simultaneously performing the functions of DRLs, headlights and direction indicators. The car is driven by two electric motors, which together produce up to 700 hp. power and 960 N * m of torque. The novelty spends just over four seconds to accelerate to 100 km / h. At the heart of Grandsphere is the PPE platform on which the Audi Q6 e-tron is based. The German model is equipped with a 120 kWh battery, which provides a cruising range of 750 kilometers.
