German automaker Audi has officially announced that it will unveil the Skysphere electric car concept on August 10, although it was previously announced that the debut will take place in September at the Munich Auto Show. It aims to showcase a vision for a new design philosophy for the upcoming electric cars, which will be created in accordance with the company's plan to completely abandon the development and production of models with a traditional combustion engine.

Judging by the teaser, the car will be a convertible, although its body shape is more reminiscent of the Targa style. The photo also shows that the model has a long hood, and the seats are strongly shifted back, being very close to the rear wheels (photo: facebook.com/audiofficial).

Chinese journalists have already tried to make out something on the teaser by raising the contrast, but, unfortunately, nothing came of it. The only thing that can be seen is the streamlined body, which is necessary to improve aerodynamics and makes up a single whole, where there are no gaps for body parts. But this obviously will not be on production copies. It is also known that the new concept will be a purely two-seater with a center of gravity shifted to the rear of the body, which is a kind of analogy with Mercedes-Benz roadsters, where similar solutions are used.

According to the head of Audi Henrik Wenders, who has previously commented on the release of concepts, a key element of future cars will be a digital ecosystem. It will fully interact with interior and exterior design, whatever that means. Theories have already begun to be built about this car that this is a future successor to the Audi R8, but so far they have no confirmation.
