Chery unveiled the new Kaiyi Xuandu sedan a few weeks ago. Now it became known that the car will go on sale in the home market in the third quarter. The manufacturer has not yet disclosed prices for its new product. But given the fact that the sedan belongs to the Kaiyi brand, under which only cheap cars are produced, the cost of Xuandu in the basic version will probably not exceed one million rubles. In doing so, it will become a direct competitor to the Volkswagen Jetta.

The Chinese novelty is able to offer more than the German model. So, thanks to the 2700 mm wheelbase, there is enough free space inside the Xuandu. Leather seats provide a comfortable fit. Above the center console, the Chinese sedan has a fairly thick 10, 25-inch touchscreen. The place of the dashboard (probably in the top-end versions) is occupied by a 7-inch digital dashboard. It is already known that Xuandu has been equipped with on-board electronics that support remote control from a smartphone. In particular, with the help of a mobile device, you can adjust the climatic equipment, open the luggage compartment and side doors.

The Chinese sedan will receive a new 1.5-liter engine, which is complemented by a turbocharger. Its declared maximum power reaches 156 hp, and the torque is 230 N * m, which is more than the engine installed on the Volkswagen Jetta. Buyers of the Chinese model will be offered a choice of a manual transmission or a variator that can simulate 9 gears. It is also known that the sedan is based on a multi-link suspension.

The body design of Xuandu matches the style of the Kaiyi brand. In particular, the car is equipped with elongated thin optics with LEDs and an original radiator grill with a volumetric pattern formed by many small metal inserts.
