French automaker Citroen plans to expand its SUV lineup with the latest compact crossover. The first details about the future novelty have already appeared on the Web. It is reported that the cross will be produced at two different sites at once, and it will be based on a simpler version of the CMP architecture.

Confirmation of the reality of these plans is the official teaser of the budget cross, which was distributed on the Web at once by several divisions of the brand from different parts of the world (photo: instagram.com/citroen_india and rushlane.com). Moreover, the Argentine section of Citroen managed to declassify the name of the car by publishing the C3 index. Also announced the date of the presentation of new items - September 16 this year.

Despite the fact that the novelty is positioned as a SUV, judging by the teasers, it can also be called a hatchback. At the front, the cross will receive a completely recognizable corporate appearance with two-tier optics. Roof rails are also noticeable on the roof of the car, and a plastic body kit is expected to be installed around the perimeter of its body.
As for the power parameters of the SUV, different Citroen divisions predict the production of cars with different units. So, in Brazil, a car can be equipped with a 1.6-liter engine or a three-cylinder turbo engine with a volume of 1 liter. The Indian version can be equipped with a 1.2-liter unit with or without a turbine. All SUV modifications will be exclusively front-wheel drive.
It is assumed that the cross, which is planned to be collected in Brazil, can be supplied to Argentina and other countries in South America. But the versions from the Indian conveyor will also be shipped to the South African car market. Other details about the crossover will appear at the time of its presentation.
