Today, auto maker Citroen is set to officially unveil its all-new D-segment crossover, the C5. Until that day, a large number of "spy" pictures of the novelty, which somehow revealed to us the features of its interesting design, have leaked to the Network. But today there was an image of the front of the production version of the French cross.

Citroen Cxperience Concept

Recall that the Citroen C5 was first introduced in 2016 as the Cxperience concept. Judging by the image of the production version of the model, the cross will have some features typical of a show car. One such detail is the dual stripe LED DRLs. They are interconnected by a thin radiator grille with the Citroen logo in the middle. The main lighting unit is located in the bumper next to the lower DRL strip, and the element itself received a massive air intake and installed PTFs on both sides.

New Citroen C5

The most interesting design element of the novelty is its silhouette. It resembles a sedan, but its high ground clearance is comparable to that of crossovers. By the way, the silhouette of the car was shown in a video that the company posted a few days ago. The previously released teaser also gave us a glimpse of the rear end of the new C5. The design of the pattern of the aft lights to some extent mimics the DRL.

An interesting feature of the stern is that the new Citroen appears to have spoilers on the roof as well as on the trunk. It should look pretty weird. One of the leaders of the French brand said that the novelty will be equipped with the innovative Citroen Progressive Hydraulic Cushion Suspension. It will provide an extremely comfortable driving experience.

Recall that the new C5 is built on the EMP2 platform, which already underlies the Peugeot 508 and DS 9. This "cart" is capable of supporting electrification. Therefore, it is possible that the new cross from Citroen will be available with a plug-in hybrid transmission. And the last thing I would like to say, there is an opinion that the new product will not be called C5. Its serial name may become Citroen C6. This will help avoid confusion with the other C5 Aircross.
