The American concern General Motors is preparing for the imminent presentation of the large electric pickup Chevrolet Silverado EV, which, as expected by the manufacturer's management and many auto experts, should become the main contender for the Ford F-150 Lightning.

The first announcement of the novelty took place back in April this year. However, since that time, not a single render or "live" photograph has been published on the Web. On the eve of General Motors representatives posted on the Internet a short video demonstrating some of the capabilities of the future pickup. Apparently, the new Silverado will receive a full-control chassis system, which the developer had previously used during the creation of an electric Hummer EV. The latest BMW 7-Series has a similar technology.

The same model shared with the future debutant Silverado EV its Ultium architecture, which was designed exclusively for the creation of full-fledged electric cars. Such a decision should give the new product from GM superiority over the same Ford F-150 Lightning.
Thus, a unique platform will allow the Chevrolet Silverado to be equipped with a more powerful engine and a capacious battery, which will enable car owners to cover a distance of 650 kilometers, while the F-150 Lightning can travel only 480 kilometers on a single charge. Also, the novelty will be able to boast of the already mentioned fully-controlled chassis. It is assumed that the new Silverado EV will be officially shown this year, and the pickup will enter the battle with the Ford F-150 Lightning for buyers in the near future. What price the novelty can get from General Motors, the manufacturer has not yet announced.
