Chevrolet has suddenly updated its Menlo electric crossover, which is currently only sold in China. Moreover, the manufacturer modified only the technical part of the car, leaving its appearance and the list of on-board equipment unchanged.
According to published information, the Chevrolet Menlo is now equipped with a larger battery. Thanks to this, the range of the electric crossover has increased to 518 kilometers. In the pre-reform version of the American model, this figure was 410 kilometers. At the same time, Chevrolet engineers replaced the 150-horsepower electric motor with a 177-horsepower one. The maximum torque of the new unit reaches 265 N * m.
Interestingly, Chevrolet said the Menlo is still powered by a lithium battery. That is, it is likely that the manufacturer really only replaced the battery with a more capacious one. Chevrolet did not disclose the characteristics of the new battery. However, if we take into account that the power reserve increased simultaneously with the increase in the motor power (and, as a consequence, the acceleration of the power consumption), the capacity of the built-in battery was significantly increased.
The Chevrolet Menlo has not undergone any other changes. At least this is not stated in the published documents. The length of the American electric crossover, as before, is 4665 mm, width - 1813 mm, height - 1538 mm. The wheelbase reaches 2660 mm. How the price of the Chevrolet Menlo changed with the increase in power and battery capacity is unknown. The pre-reform version of the American electric crossover in China was offered for a minimum of 159.9 thousand yuan (1.82 million rubles).
