The Munich Auto Show is in full swing, continuing to fill the headlines with new concept and production car launches. However, this does not mean that automakers are not working on their future products at this time. So, a new batch of "spy" photos of the next generation BMW 5-Series has appeared on the web. Geographically, these prototypes were spotted in Munich, not far from the venue of the show.
The current version of the model
Unfortunately, the two test vehicles captured by the camera still have temporary lights on both the rear and front (photo: motor1.com). Both vehicles received identical camouflage patterns, although one is a plug-in hybrid model and the other is a traditional combustion-engine sedan. The interior is still heavily camouflaged and you can see very little from the open driver's window.
"Spy" photo novelties
As more and more new BMW models are equipped with iDrive, it is likely that the next generation of the 5 Series will also incorporate technologies pioneered in iX crossovers. This means that the control panel will be dominated by two large screens, responsible for the "tidy" and infotainment complex.

As for the engine lineup, the new 5 Series will be sold with a family of combustion engines, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and electric powertrains. The focus will be on electrification as the PHEV and EV versions are expected to receive the most innovations and updates.

By combining all the information about the new BMW 5-Series, independent designers have created a render image of the future model. It showcases the final design of a premium sedan from Bavaria. The photo shows that the car has acquired an increased body size and front end with new sleek headlights.
