BMW has chosen a home showroom as a venue to showcase two unique new products. The i Vision concept debuted at the Munich Motor Show - an electric car that can be completely redesigned. Also at the BMW stand was the iX5 Hydrogen hydrogen crossover, which the Bavarian company announced last year.

The manufacturer said that this model will be produced in a limited edition. The hydrogen-powered BMW iX5 will go on sale in 2022. The car is equipped with a fifth-generation electric drive with a maximum output of 374 hp. Together with it, 700 bar cylinders are installed on the crossover to store six kilograms of hydrogen. The maximum power of the fuel cells of the Bavarian novelty is 170 hp. It is stated that it takes no more than four minutes to fully fill the cylinders.

BMW has developed fuel cells in collaboration with Toyota, which has a long history of making such vehicles. The Japanese concern recently introduced the second generation of the hydrogen-powered Mirai.

Visually, the new BMW iX5 Hydrogen looks a lot like the standard X5. If you do not pay attention to the special stickers that adorn different parts of the body, then the presented model differs from the usual crossover by the presence of decorative inserts in blue. BMW fixes such parts only on electric cars today. These inserts are found on the front and rear bumpers, side doors and wheel rims. Also noteworthy is the presence of wide ventilation holes, making the appearance of the Bavarian model more aggressive.
