Smit Vehicle Engineering has unveiled the new Oletha sports car. It is almost an exact copy of the BMW Z8 Coupe, as it looks like it, has a hard top and retro styling. The exterior of the model refers to the classic 507, which was produced in the form of a roadster. The startup describes its creation as "a love letter to the BMW of our childhood."

Smit Vehicle does not say on the basis of which BMW the car is built, but it can be assumed that this is a Z4 in the back of an E86. However, the hull is rebuilt and consists of carbon fiber reinforced plastic. At the front, the Oletha Coupe has a unique grille, retro optics and a small hood cutout. In addition, it has a hard roof and twin tailpipes, and the taillights are exactly the same as the original Z8.

The original was powered by a 4, 9-liter V8 S65B44 engine, which was also installed in the BMW M5 E39. The Oletha Coupe uses a naturally aspirated 4.4-liter V8. It was installed in the M3 E90 CRT and M3 E92 GTS. The motor produces over 450 hp. The company says the car has a carbon fiber intake manifold and a special exhaust made of stainless steel and nickel.

The engine works together with a six-speed "mechanics", the drive is rear. Other key features of the Oletha Coupe include KW bilateral adjustable suspension and AP Racing brakes with Radi-CAL forged calipers.

The car stands on forged monoblock wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. The interior of the novelty was never revealed, but Smit Vehicle experts promise 8-way adjustable Gran Turismo seats or carbon fiber sports seats and an advanced audio system. The price of the car has not yet been announced, but it is obvious that it will be very high.
