BMW plans to unveil an updated X5 M crossover next year. But now Spanish designers have shown how a Bavarian model might look. The renders published by them reveal one feature of the future crossover: the updated BMW X5 M, in essence, has not changed. The difference with the current version of the Bavarian model lies in the details. So, the new item has a smaller grille, and its vertical slats are now laid horizontally. The configuration of the head optics remains the same.

Actual model

More noticeable changes were made to the front bumper, which, according to the Spanish designers, will have a complex shape (photo: motor.es). Instead of a central air intake, the presented novelty has a non-standard design that divides the ventilation hole into several segments. Perhaps this configuration improves the redistribution of air flows.

Note that such insignificant changes are probably due to the fact that the BMW X5 and its sports M-version are expected to have a planned restyling, and not a change of generations. Therefore, the car must retain most of the stylistic solutions and engine range that distinguish the current version of the model. But in the future, the BMW X5 may lose its branded head optics. This is indicated by photos of a prototype of the new X8, which will soon become the flagship of the Bavarian brand. This model has two-tier optics in front. Accordingly, similar stylistic decisions in the future can be expected on other BMW crossovers, including the X5.

Recall that now the most powerful version of the Bavarian model is equipped with a 625-horsepower biturbo engine with a volume of 4.4 liters. It produces up to 750 N * m of torque and is equipped with an 8-speed "automatic".
