Genesis released official photos of the G70 Shooting Brake last month. Then the manufacturer said that more detailed information on the configuration and technical features of the model will be disclosed later. Apparently, this moment will come soon, as, according to the latest data, Hyundai will unveil a real production version of the G70 Shooting Brake to the public at the Goodwood Auto Festival. In addition, the South Korean manufacturer plans to bring its Genesis X concept, shown in March this year, to the event. All of this will take place starting on July 8th.
Now, many car enthusiasts argue that the G70 station wagon is not a true representative of Shooting Brake vehicles. The fact is that traditionally such models included cars with a two-door body, which have rather long wings, as well as a hood. The G70 Shooting Brake, presented so far only in the photo, will actually be more correctly ranked among the cars that are classified in the segment of station wagons with an extended roof.
But whatever the name of this model is, it really looks impressive. Its dimensions and design are identical to the standard G70 sedan. Except, of course, for the interior space. The transformation of the sedan into a station wagon allowed the engineers to increase the volume of the cabin by 40%, not only for transported luggage, but also for passengers in the back. In addition, the backrests of the second row of seats can be folded down with ease, making the Genesis G70 Shooting Brake as practical as possible.
More details about the car, such as the equipment of the complete sets, the mechanical component and other aspects unknown to date, will be revealed very soon. It is worth saying that given the increased demand from car enthusiasts for crossovers and SUVs, creating a car with a long roof in the body of a station wagon is truly a bold move for Genesis.
