Hyundai brought a completely new version of the Genesis G80 to the Shanghai Auto Show in April. The Korean model was presented in a fully electric form. Due to the abandonment of traditional internal combustion engines, Hyundai had to develop a new platform from scratch, on which the presented Genesis G80 was built. It is noteworthy, but despite the change in architecture, the body of the Korean sedan remained practically unchanged. The manufacturer even installed a plug in front, which visually imitates the design of the branded radiator grill.

A video of one blogger has now appeared on the Web, which reveals in detail the features of the electric Genesis G80. However, so far, a full-fledged review has not turned out, since the shooting was carried out during one of the events in South Korea. However, even what the blogger managed to film shows that the electric sedan is fundamentally different from the standard Genesis G80. Moreover, the difference between the models can be traced not only in the types of motors used and in the absence of a radiator grill.

And yet, the main feature of the electric Genesis G80 lies precisely in its technical part. The Korean model is equipped with two electric motors mounted on the front and rear axles. Together, they produce up to 365 hp. power and 700 N * m of torque. Moreover, the maximum thrust, thanks to the installed electric motors, is achieved almost instantly. Due to this, the acceleration to 100 km / h for the Korean novelty takes only 4.9 seconds. At the same time, the Genesis G80 has a battery pack under the floor, due to which the volume of internal space has decreased. But on the other hand, their appearance made it possible to lower the center of gravity, which had a positive effect on the stability of the car.

Another feature of the electric Genesis G80 is that it comes with rooftop solar panels. Hyundai has yet to reveal how much they extend the range.
