Hyundai announced a few days ago that the official presentation of the new generation Genesis G90 sedan will take place in November 2021. The manufacturer has not yet confirmed this, but it is expected that the Korean model will lose the 5-liter V8 engine, which will replace the less powerful and more economical 3.5-liter twin-turbo unit. Hyundai is currently continuing to test the prototype of the upcoming Genesis G90 on public roads. Thanks to this, the journalists were able to take a look at the salon of the Korean novelty.
Current Genesis G90
The published photos of the interior reveal very few details about the interior space. Basically, they show a portion of the front panel with a digital instrument cluster and touchscreen monitor. But even in such a picture, one unusual detail can be noted. Initially, it was assumed that the dashboard and touchscreen would be combined into one cluster. But on the Genesis G90 test prototype, there is a separator between them, the function of which is unknown. Perhaps this is some kind of overlay that developers use to check the operation of on-board systems, and it will disappear on a serial sedan.
New Genesis G90
Recall that the Korean novelty after the generational change will be equipped with a lidar, with the help of which Hyundai engineers are implementing the third level autonomous driving technology in the Genesis G90. The exact characteristics of this equipment have not yet been announced, but it is known that it is capable of slowing down the vehicle. Also, the Korean novelty will receive a set of additional cameras that will be installed on the sides of the body. These devices, according to the official statement, are able to recognize objects in cloudy weather.

In addition, the Genesis G90 will be bundled with several sensors and sensors that, together with the lidar, will work on the basis of a single algorithm. It is stated that on-board electronics will be able to independently make decisions in certain situations and take control of the car.
