Citroen continues to develop its premium sub-brand. Following the recently debuted DS9 sedan, the large-size crossover DS9 Crossback may enter the market. According to rumors, the debut of the car will take place no earlier than 2023 or 2024.

Aero Sport Lounge Concept

Officially, Citroen representatives give little information about their new product. According to preliminary data, the car will be built on the basis of the 5-meter concept Aero Sport Lounge, which, like other models of the French brand, stood out for its non-standard appearance. In particular, this prototype was presented in the form of a coupe-like crossover with a low "planted" roof. Probably, the serial execution of this concept will not receive side doors that open back. But perhaps the future DS9 Crossback will borrow cameras from its prototype, replacing the rear-view mirrors, and a huge monitor that stretches along the front panel.

The type of platform on the basis of which this novelty will be built has not yet been disclosed. There is a possibility that the DS9 Crossack will be based on the EMP2 architecture. But, most likely, the car will be based on the new eVMP platform, which is designed for mid- and large-size crossovers, and also allows the use of both purely electric motors and hybrid installations.

Accordingly, the DS9 Crossback can get 2 electric motors, which together produce up to 335 hp. power. The specified platform supports the introduction of different batteries with a capacity of 60-100 kWh. The power reserve of the French model will vary from 402 to 650 kilometers. The size of the wheelbase of the crossover will exceed 3 meters, which allows you to install an additional row of seats. Hybrid versions of the DS9 Crossback will compete with the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, while electric versions will compete with the BMW iX and Mercedes-Benz EQC.
