While most carmakers have focused their energies on developing crossovers and SUVs, PSA's premium brand, DS, intends to impose competition in the luxury sedan segment.
The DS 9 should be the protagonist in this French struggle. And this, in turn, means that this car has ambitions to impose a competitive struggle on the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5-Series, Jaguar XF and Audi A6.
Inside, the spiritual successor to the Citroen C6 is completely different from the cars of German brands. It has its own interior design, typical of the DS lineup. The equipment of the premium sedan is generous enough even in the basic version. For example, you can find leather seat upholstery with heated and ventilated front row, and a massage function for the rear. A second level semi-autonomous driving system, a night vision camera and an intelligent parking assistant are a nice addition. In addition, the basic version of the model is available "smart" suspension, thanks to which the bumps on the road will remain unnoticed, and adaptive optics.
The DS 9's engine compartment is powered by a PureTech turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. Its power is 225 hp. In addition, the manufacturer offers two plug-in hybrids of the E-Tence series. One with the same power of 225 hp, the second develops 335 hp. Moreover, the latter is also available with an all-wheel drive system.
In automotive markets, the DS 9 is available in two trim levels. On average, prices for the version with a gasoline engine are $ 56,438 (4.2 million rubles). Variations with plug-in modules will cost from 64,060 to 68,367 dollars (4, 8 - 5, 1 million rubles), depending on the configuration and the installed power unit. It is worth saying that many buyers are seriously considering the DS 9 of 2021 as a replacement for the legendary “Germans”.
