Citroen has unveiled the new DS4 cross-hatch the day before the official presentation. The car is built on the modular platform EMP 2, which has also recently been used in the creation of Opel models. Note that the new DS4 will be assembled at the German car plant.

The manufacturer said that work has been carried out to strengthen the frame in the new DS4. However, the French hatchback attracts attention not with this, but with on-board equipment: in terms of equipment, the car can be compared even with the latest Mercedes-Benz S-Class, which costs at least 3 times more.

Complete with DS4, they will offer systems that recognize road signs, control the speed of movement and the character of vehicle control. The built-in equipment is capable of displaying a projection on the road showing the current direction, taking into account the markings. This makes driving the hatchback safer at night. Also, DS4 systems can communicate with neighboring vehicles, and navigation provides information on the presence of congestion and other information in real time.

In addition, the French model was equipped with a high-definition camera that "sees" at a distance of 75 kilometers. It works in conjunction with a new active suspension that automatically adjusts to the road surface. Like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the new DS4 has a built-in touchpad in the rear armrest, through which passengers can control the on-board electronics.

The French model received petrol and diesel engines. In addition to modifications with standard internal combustion engines, a hybrid version of the DS4 with a unit developing up to 225 hp will enter the market. power, and a battery that provides an electric range of 50 kilometers. The French novelty will enter the market in the second half of 2021. Whether this model will appear in Russia is still unknown.
