In recent years, the French brand DS Automobiles has experienced a real internal revolution. Its goal was nothing more than to strengthen and improve its sales outside of France. Despite the fact that things have gone much better for the company since DS merged with PSA, it still has very ambitious plans.

For 2021, the company has very important projects related to increasing its own range of models by adding two new vehicles. The manufacturer also intends to expand the sales market in the Old Continent. The French brand will soon have two vehicles to join the new DS 9, which has already begun its European commercial journey.

The next model to join the DS Automobiles lineup will be the same size as the DS 4. This compact car will have to compete head-on with real European heavyweights such as the Audi A3 Sportback, BMW 1-Series and Mercedes A-Class.

The novelty, built on the PSA EMP2 platform, will have a very distinctive appearance inherent in most models of the French brand, and, just as important, it will bring with it advanced technological equipment and an electrified transmission. Among the various offerings in the engine compartment will be the hybrid version of the E-Tense. The debut of the new DS 4 counterpart is scheduled for the first quarter of 2021, after which it will go on sale in a few months.

Despite the close relationship at the technical level, the new DS 4 Crossback will have a completely different appearance from the regular DS 4. It is set to debut in 2021 and its range of engines will include petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains.
