The first DS car, which is not a more expensive version of similar Citroen models. The DS7 was presented at a separate event in Paris on February 28, 2017. The hybrid top version was presented at the Paris Motor Show a year later. The car is built on the new modular platform of the PSA concern, EMP-2. This car is a premium mid-size crossover with front or all-wheel drive transmission.

Today it is the flagship model DS 7 Crossback 2019. It confirms its status with the appearance and materials that were used in its creation. The implementation is planned through its own dealer network, separately from Citroen vehicles. While the estimated cost of the car is hovering around 2.5 million rubles. The model has been tasked with squeezing the premium crossovers of the big German three on the market, however, everything is given for this model: the technical part, design and an acceptable price tag. Also very interesting is the fact that it was in this car that French President Emmanuel Macron arrived at the inauguration.

Considering that for the manufacturer, the new 2019 DS 7 Crossback model is more of an experiment, and the body, configurations and prices cause increased attention. Everything looks logical in the photo, and judging by the reviews, drivers like the wealth of solutions.

The DS 7 Crossback is available in nine body colors with four wheel sizes. The minimum size is seventeen inches and the maximum is twenty inches.
From the power plants, two turbodiesels and three gasoline turbo engines are available for it, as well as one hybrid power plant. Two transmissions are available for the model: a manual six-speed, eight-speed automatic and two drive options.
The car is literally packed with various security systems. Literally everything is available for her, namely: ABS, ESP, ASR, REF, BAS.
The DS connect box delights with advanced systems:
- lane keeping control,
- automatic emergency braking,
- signalization of not wearing seat belts,
- monitoring of dead zones.

The more expensive versions have a panoramic sunroof, and the rear passengers have access to their own climate control unit.
Specifications
The car does not have the largest dimensions, but you cannot call it small either. Dimensions L-W-H: 4573-2098 (1906 without mirrors) -1625 mm. The wheelbase is 2738 mm. Trunk volume 555 liters, and with the rear backs folded down - 1750 liters. The volume of the fuel tank is 55 liters. The total weight is 2115 kilograms.
The line of power units includes three gasoline and two diesel engines, as well as a hybrid installation. Petrol engines of the PureTech series with a volume of 1, 2 and 1, 6 liters. The 1.2 liter engine is a turbocharged three-cylinder engine. Power is 130 horsepower and 230 Newton meters of torque, they are already available at 5500 rpm for power, and 1750 rpm for torque.
The other two are turbocharged four-cylinder engines from the same series, with a volume of 1.6 liters, 180 and 225 horsepower at 5500 rpm, torque was 250 and 300 Newton meters at 1750 rpm. The combined cycle consumption is about 6 liters per hundred.
Two diesel engines from the BlueHDi series have a volume of 1.5 liters. Power 130 horsepower at 3750 rpm. The torque of 300 Newton meters is available in full at 1750 rpm. Fuel consumption is four liters per hundred kilometers on the combined cycle. The second diesel engine with a volume of 2 liters and 180 horsepower. They develop at 3750 rpm, and a torque of 400 Newton meters is available already at 2000 rpm. Combined fuel consumption is 5 liters per hundred kilometers.
The hybrid power plant is a symbiosis of 180 hp gasoline or diesel engines and two electric motors. With a capacity of 80 kilowatts, and the combined capacity of the internal combustion engine and electric motors is 300 forces. In electric mode, the car can travel up to 60 kilometers without recharging. The time to fully charge the batteries is 3, 5-4, 5 hours.
There are two gearboxes available. The first mechanical six-speed. It is aggregated with the weakest motors. It was developed within the concern and is produced at its facilities. The second gearbox is an eight-speed automatic made by the Japanese company Aisin. Undercarriage front McPherson type, rear multi-link beam. Disc brakes.
Design
DS 7 Crossback 2019 meets a massive radiator grille with chrome surround and a sly squint of LED headlights. The squint complements the wide grin of the composition of the lower grille and daytime running lights. In general, in the appearance of this car, everything is in moderation: aggression, luxury, sports and aesthetics. One thing is for sure that from all sides the car is attractive and looks brighter and more interesting than its competitors.
The dynamic silhouette is accentuated by a sculpted bonnet and moderately inflated wheel arches that accommodate large rims. The fact that this is a crossover is emphasized by a skirt made of unpainted plastic, although the front lower lip in some trim levels is covered with chrome. The chrome trim of the window opening adds to the expressiveness of the car. The door opening handles are of a completely conventional design, but the fuel filler flap repeats the bend of the body.
Almost the entire rear of the car is occupied by the trunk lid. It houses LED brake lights with the now branded diamond pattern and edged with a chrome frame. Completing this whole composition are huge rectangular exhaust pipes, which, by the way, are also chrome-plated.
Inside, they did not skimp on luxury and high technology. In this car, instead of a dashboard, a seven-inch display with very beautiful graphics of scales was placed. It also displays the data of the navigator and the on-board computer. The steering wheel is a separate piece of art. Almost all management is concentrated on it, while it cannot be called overloaded. The center console houses a clock that slides out of the panel when the engine is started. Below them is a twelve-inch touchscreen display, from which almost all vehicle systems are controlled.

conclusions
DS 7 Crossback is a car with an extraordinary appearance and technical stuffing. This car can be called an attempt to separate the new brand from Citroen. It is slightly cheaper than its competitors and, in addition to design, also offers good equipment. Perhaps the only thing she cannot offer is a projection onto the windshield, but you can live without it, given the display instead of the instruments. An adaptive suspension will soon be available, after which it will simply have to take market share from the German troika and some Japanese classmates.
Although, as the French themselves say, the task of this car is not to compete with the Germans and Japanese of the premium segment, but to create a layer of a special premium for creative and extravagant people. Of particular interest is the hybrid version, as it is the first four-wheel drive French crossover. Japanese twins don't count. Time will tell whether DS 7 Crossback will succeed, but its appearance on the market will definitely not go unnoticed.
