Chinese automaker GAC has officially unveiled the next generation GS8 large crossover. According to the data announced by representatives of the company, the SUV acquired a more modern appearance during the renovation, and also received much more services that increase the safety of its passengers.
So, in the exterior of the car, representatives of the company noted its equipment with more modern head optics, as well as redesigned taillights. Also, experts have updated the grille of the SUV, installed other bumpers on it, and also proposed a new line of glazing. Of the other changes concerning the crossover body, an increase in its dimensions can be noted. Now the dimensions of the GAC GS8 are 4876x1910x1770 mm, its center distance reaches 2800 mm, and the clearance level is 220 mm.
As for the power parameters of the car, a 2-liter turbo engine is available for it, producing 190 horsepower. Together with it, an automatic transmission with 8 speeds, as well as an all-wheel drive system, interact. As an alternative option, a version with a hybrid engine is available to the buyer, built on the basis of the same 2-liter unit.
The list of built-in capabilities of the Chinese model includes: climate control for 3 zones, an assistant that allows you to avoid collisions with other road users and obstacles, adaptive cruise control, a video surveillance system, a panoramic roof. The novelty will appear on the Chinese market this fall. The price for the updated SUV has not yet been announced. For reference, in Russia the previous generation of cross can be bought for 2.098 million rubles. Among the main competitors of the car is the Japanese Toyota Land Cruiser Prado.
