GAC is actively developing a line of electric vehicles. Now the manufacturer has declassified details of the exterior, interior and technical equipment of the new electric crossover Aion LX. The main feature of this model is that it can travel up to one thousand kilometers without recharging. This figure is still a record for electric cars. It was only surpassed by Lucid Motors. But the American startup released an electric sedan, not a crossover.
Basically, the new GAC Aion LX is capable of driving as much as the Tesla Model S Long Range and Nissan Leaf combined. It should be noted that the company probably tested a new electric crossover according to the Chinese protocol, which, according to many experts, always shows overestimated results: the difference with the real power reserve can reach 1.5 times.
However, GAC representatives said that the manufacturer himself tested his new product in order to find out how much it can travel without recharging. According to published test results, the Aion LX has a range of 904 kilometers. This figure was achieved in 36-degree heat and 90% humidity. That is, in more favorable conditions, the electric car is really capable of driving the declared 1000 kilometers.
These impressive results were achieved in part due to the introduction of a sponge silicon cathode, which provides a higher energy density, and also allows you to reduce the weight and size of the battery. Thanks to this, the capacity of the battery built into the Aion LX has reached 150 kWh. According to preliminary information, the GAC company will bring its novelty to the home market in 2022. The prices for the car have not yet been announced.
